Author's Note: This takes place after the "Decisions Are Made" chapter as an alternative to "The Demon Duo".   The challenge...what if the boys are never told about their mothers?

And now onto an alternative storyline...

Aizawa waited for most of the staff to leave before he knocked on the door and waited a moment before he opened the door.  He didn't want to overwhelm the boys.   Especially not when he was getting ready to share the worst news he could with the boys.

The room was silent as he opened the door.   His eyes moved slowly across the room, spotting Katsuki crouched near a bookshelf that had been pulled out as if to create a hideaway space.

"C'mon nerd," Katsuki said softly.   "I'm telling you it won't be that bad.   We just gotta get the fuck outta here.   Crusty man will understand.   I mean it isn't like he doesn't know you."

Aizawa relaxed, somewhat relieved to see Katsuki trying to calm Izuku down.  He took a half-step into the room, preparing to alert the blond to his presence.  Movement to his left caught his eye and he went to move...too late.   Water sloshed into his face as something caused his eyes to burn in sudden, unexpected pain.

The man grunted as he felt something hard smash into his face.   He fell backwards from the force of the hit.  His vision went white as the back of his skull made contact with the floor.

"Sho?!" Hizashi cried.

"Watch out!" Nedzu cried out from nearby.

Aizawa felt his side erupt in pain before he heard Hizashi use his quirk.

"Fuck off, you blond asshole!" Katsuki's voice roared despite the quirk enhanced cry.

"Kacchan, this way," Izuku's voice was calmer...as if Hizashi's attack wasn't doing anything.

"Let me kill 'em," Katsuki growled.

Aizawa rubbed at his eyes, trying to clear whatever had gotten into them.   The attempt only made his eyes burn worse, but he had to do something.  This was bad...it was like Hizashi's quick was useless.

"Later," Izuku cooed gently.

Aizawa moved toward the green eyed boy's voice, trying to react.  He felt the heat on his face before his world went dark to Hizashi's cry of terror.

The smell of alcohol burned Aizawa's nose, making him groan.

"Easy there, boy," Recovery Girl ordered.

Aizawa slowly opened his eyes, the dimly lit nurse's office coming into focus. "What...happened?"

"You damn near died, fool," the elderly woman scolded.

"My eyes...what..."Aizawa tried to string his thoughts together.

"Water and crushed granola," Recovery Girl answered.   "From the video feed, it looks like Midoriya crushed it into the bottle with Bakugo's help.   Then Bakugo was the distraction while Midoriya threw it in your face.  I was able to fix any damage the grains caused."

Aizawa made himself sit up, feeling the tender spots on his body.   "How bad was I?"

"They shattered your nose and an eye socket," Recovery Girl frowned.   "Broke a few ribs and left you with a cracked skull.   Second degree burns on your face.  I healed what I could while Yamada and the other staff went after the boys."

Aizawa frowned.   "Did they hurt anyone else?"

Recovery Girl frowned.   "No students were hurt in their escape."
