(Dogday's POV)
There the mysterious figure sat, rubbing his head gently as he winced in pain.
"I guess those are just the side effects of teleportation..." The figure said to themselves.
"Catnap... Who is that...?" I asked in fear and confusion.
"I don't know, let me do the talking alright Dogday?" Catnap responded in a whisper.
"Anyways, hi there! My name's... Uh... I can't really say my name's Maxwell... Just call me Neko for now!" The figure said.
"Alright... Neko...? What are you doing here? What do you want?" Catnap asked, looking as if he was ready to defend himself at any moment.
"Oh cool! You're also a cat! ...Well, I'm not fully cat, only a cat version of someone else, and THAT'S what I want." Neko said.
Catnap gasped slightly before speaking again.
"U- Uhm... You're eyes are bleeding...! Are you okay?!" Catnap asked frantically.
"Oh yeah, that happens all the time, although, I'm gonna need something to clean my face..." Neko said to themselves.
And with that, Catnap quickly rushed to his house, and immediately came out again, with a cloth in hand.
Catnap quickly wiped the blood off of Neko's face, and we could see his face more clearly now, he had a scar across his eye, and ruby red eyes.
"U- Uhm... Thanks...? Nobody has done that for me before..." Neko thanked Catnap, he looked like he was blushing slightly.
"Before you say anything, you're gonna need some type of signature charm on your neck like ours, the sun, or moon. You can get in serious trouble if you don't wear one...!" I said quickly.
Neko looked at me and sort of just stared at me for a second before speaking.
"Charm? Like this one on my neck?" Neko said as he pointed to a collar on his neck which did in fact have a charm, except it was of an eye.
"Yeah, that could count as one!" I assured Neko as he nodded once in response.
"Oh, I should tell you guys, I kind of... Uh... Made that last teleportation as a last ditch effort... So uh... I'm gonna be stuck here for a LONG time..." Neko said awkwardly.
"...How long?" Catnap asked.
"Probably a couple years... If I'm lucky..." Neko said quietly.
"..."
"...Where's the nearest tree I can rest under?" Neko asked quickly.
"Tree? What?" I asked, majorly confused.
"Yeah, I always sleep outdoors, it's a... Alternative way of resting..." Neko said, lying through his teeth.
"...Neko... When is the last time you had a good night's sleep?" Catnap asked sternly, making Neko look down.
"...I haven't slept in 64 years..." Neko mumbled quietly.
"Wha- 64 YEARS?!" Catnap expressed in disbelief.
"Are you okay...!? How have you been awake for so long?!" I asked, concerned for Neko's well-being.
"This is embarrassing to say, but I uh... I don't actually know how to sleep..." Neko said, shocking us both.
"...Dogday..." Catnap said quietly, to which I looked at him in response to.
"Do you mind if I...?" Catnap hinted.
I nodded my head in response as I knew what Catnap was about to do.
"W- What are you gonna do-" Neko tried asking, but before he could finish, Catnap quickly hit Neko with a small amount of red smoke from his mouth.
"Ack!- Hey! What was that f...-" Neko stammered as he quickly fell to his knees, then onto the ground, completely knocked out.
"I'm gonna let him stay in my house for a while, sleep is important." Catnap said as he picked up Neko.
"You could have given him a warning, Catnap...! What if you got smoke in his eyes...?" I shamed Catnap as he just sighed.
"If he was ready for it, it wouldn't have worked that well... Anyways, I'm off, I'll see you tomorrow morning okay?" Catnap said, giving me a friendly smile as he walked back to his house.
I smiled back, not being able to resist the butterflies in my chest whenever I saw Catnap smile because of me.
I walked home and quickly locked my front door, turning off all the lights in my house, except for the nightlight I had in my room, and curled up into bed.
I hope Catnap is treating Neko nicely...
(Catnap's POV)
I laid Neko down gently on the couch in my living room, I WOULD have let him sleep in my bed, but he probably wouldn't be comfortable with that.
I covered him with a blanket, and made sure that he was comfortable, and soon enough, he was out like a light, more than before at least.
And with that, I walked upstairs and crawled into bed, turning off the lights in my room and wrapping my tail around my own legs so it didn't rustle up the covers.
I'd deal with Neko in the morning, although, it seems I'm going to have to be more gentle, that guy doesn't seem like the type to stay strong when certain conditions are met...
