(Catnap's POV)
Last night was probably the best night of my life, I never thought I would be able to go that far with Dogday, and ever since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking of him.
But when I was laying on my couch, sketching a few pictures of me and him being best buds, I heard a knock on my door, to which I got up and opened the door to find Dogday standing there happily.
"Hey, Catnap! Me and everyone else wanted to know if you wanted to come build a fort outside with us! It's gonna be really cozy and fun!" Dogday expressed, happily jumping up and down, I could tell he really wanted me to help.
"Sure, I'll help, just... Stay away from anyone who tries talking to you okay?" I requested, tossing some pencils onto my couch as Dogday looked sort of confused.
"Are... Are you still jealous about Kicken trying to talk to me? I hope you aren't..." Dogday said as he started looking a bit more worried for me, but I then decided to just change the subject.
"N- No... It's just... Let's just go meet up with the others..." I mumbled, walking outside with Dogday as we both met up with Crafty, Bubba, and everyone else.
They were all building a complex system of walls and pillars with wood, rope, and other materials as everyone volunteered in their own effective ways.
Me and Dogday split up quickly as we all ended up working together to continue building the fort and make it as efficient as possible, and it was coming out very decently as far as I could tell.
Different types of materials were used, we sanded areas of wood, made some parts more durable, smoother, flexible, and all around just different in general.
Every now and then I looked back at Dogday, and sure, some others WERE talking to him, but I let it slide this time, as it didn't seem like they actually wanted anything big from him.
As the day continued on, and everyone kept working, getting more supplies, adding other features, taking some breaks, and other things, most of us started to realize a pretty big problem...
We sort of ran out of rope, and that was a huge deal, because... Now how would we add more structural support and other mechanisms?
Everyone eventually stopped working to try and figure out what we could do, we couldn't just put some random supports down and hope it would stay stable! That would be reckless.
Everyone was constantly going back and forth with ideas, but none of them seemed to work, and we were running out of solutions.
The last idea we had was to go and get more supplies elsewhere while some others made sure the structure was supported correctly and stabilized.
Right as everyone was about to agree on that final solution, out of nowhere, Neko came along behind us, asking what was going on.
"Hey everyone! What's happening? Why do you all look so worried?" Neko asked as we started explaining.
"Neko! Listen man, we've got a HUGE problem on our hands!" Kicken said, to which I followed up.
"We've run out of rope for our supports, and now we don't know what to do...!" I explained as Neko listened carefully.
"Is there something you can think of to help us?" Dogday asked, and everyone else followed up with the same question.
Neko took a long pause before sighing, and asking one simple question.
"...How much does this fort mean to you guys again?" Neko asked, to which everyone exaggerated, giving ridiculous ratings, even though we didn't need it THAT badly.
Neko cleared his throat, putting his hand to the back of his neck and slowly removing the collar on his neck, taking his charm off with it.
Everyone gasped and started whispering amongst themselves, most of the questions I heard were things such as "What is he doing?" And "He's gonna get in trouble!"
Neko dropped the collar on the grass as he held his head in his hands, looking back up at us slowly as his head and eyes bled slightly, almost like what happened when he first appeared here.
"Woah! Neko, are you okay?-" Dogday asked frantically before Neko cut him off.
"I'm fine." Neko said in a raspy voice as he reached towards his arm before speaking again.
"If you're prone to being nauseous, I suggest looking away." Neko said as almost everyone except me and Dogday continued looking.
Neko dug into his arm as blood dripped from his arm, he violently pulled out some blue and red cords from his arm, I think those were veins.
He took a deep breath in before wrapping the veins around the support, keeping it in place very well as it didn't even move.
Neko used his own veins as a type of rope, JUST to make us happy... I think I was starting to realize just how grateful he was to us...
He walked over to his collar and put it back on, sighing as he fell on his back on the grass, blacking out as everyone eventually opened their eyes to find him completely out of it.
After a bit of re-capping, everyone now knew the short story on why there was now veins acting as a rope for our base, and why Neko was for some reason unconscious in front of us.
Dogday took Neko to his house and patched him up before coming back outside with us, and the base was seemingly complete, aside from some unnecessary changes some others wanted to add.
For the rest of the day everyone played outside, playing tag, hide and seek, checking out the fort, and other things.
Although I wonder if Neko would be okay... He seemed to be able to do all of that stuff... Relatively easy...
Just what type of person was Neko...?
