(Catnap's POV)

It was morning, and I had just woken up to find Dogday no longer by my side, and all I knew in that moment was someone, probably Dogday, was cooking something in the kitchen.

So I got up and grabbed the blanket on the couch, taking it with me as I wrapped myself up in it, still extremely sleepy.

I walked into the kitchen and rubbed my eyes as I groaned softly, then looking at Dogday, who was up bright and early, smiling as his tail wagged.

"Morning, sleepyhead!~" Dogday teased as I rubbed my eyes again, still tired, and not willing to do anything that required energy from me.

"Aw c'mon Catnap! Lighten up...! I'm making breakfast for you and me, it's eggs and bacon!" Dogday exclaimed, he knew I liked bacon and eggs, it was simple, and they tasted... Wait...

Last time I saw Dogday cook was months ago... Has he been practicing in his own time...?

Good for him, I guess...

"Ow!" Dogday yelped as he held his finger, some grease probably burned him, he whined in pain but shook it off.

"Are you okay? Some grease got you?" I asked, still rubbing my eyes, trying to drown the drowsiness out.

"Y- Yeah I'm fine... Thanks for your concern..." Dogday mumbled as he went back to cooking soon after, it's like he forgets about the most minor injuries so easily...

"Oh, I know!" Dogday said to himself as he ran across the room and picked up a yarn ball I had been keeping, but not using.

"Does the kitty want his ball?~" Dogday teased me again as he held the ball a couple feet from me, to which I had no reaction to, except blinking slowly once.

But he then tossed the ball to a random corner of the house, and I had the sudden urge to just... Get it...

I tried with all my strength, but I couldn't help myself, I dashed out of the blanket and leaped towards the ball as Dogday laughed, he probably knew I wouldn't be able to hold back either.

I gnawed the ball and scratched at it, purring happily as I genuinely felt really excited, over a simple yarn ball, but it was more than that to me, trust me.

I didn't even notice that Dogday had finished cooking and had walked over to me, still laughing a bit as he placed a plate of food nearby.

"Alright, Catnap, enough of the yarn ball, you gotta eat breakfast..." Dogday said, chuckling on last time before trying to pick the ball up, but I held onto it with one of my claws.

I growled and immediately looked displeased with Dogday trying to take the ball from me, I continued holding onto the ball with my claws.

"C'mon, Catnap, you can play with it later, you'll just have to wait a couple minutes." Dogday said as I hissed slightly, making Dogday sigh before removing my claws from the ball manually.

I pouted and laid down as Dogday sat next to me and gave me scritches behind my ears, placing some food in front of me as I pouted again.

"C'mon, Catnap, just eat, then you can play with the ball again, okay?" Dogday said, making it sound like he was my mom or something.

"Fine..." I growled as Dogday gave me some more scratches.

"There we go, good kitty..." Dogday teased one more time before getting up to go eat.

Sometimes he can be a real pain, but he knows he is, and he wears that title proudly, I find it kind of amusing actually.

I guess I better just eat this stuff, it'll get cold soon anyways...

Although, why did he call me that? It was odd...
