(Catnap's POV)
Me and Dogday were spending some time watching TV after we had finished eating, and after a while, we had gotten kind of bored, so we decided to head outside.
When we both walked outside, we saw the other critters playing baseball, Kicken was the pitcher, and it looked like there was no current batter.
"Hey, Catnap, you should go up there and bat!" Dogday teased me as I sighed before crossing my arms.
But unfortunately, the other critters noticed me, and practically dragged me into the game, handing me a bat as I grumbled slightly and got into a basic batting stance.
"You've got this, Catnap!" Other critters, including Dogday had cheered me on, some others cheering on Kicken as he readied himself.
He threw the ball at me and I focused almost immediately, swinging as hard as I could as everybody watched the ball fly above them, towards a nearby tree.
But suddenly, Neko appeared from under the leaves, hanging from his tail as the ball was heading straight for him.
I expected the worst to happen as everyone gasped, also expecting Neko to probably get hit extremely hard in the face, but instead Neko shocked us all.
He caught the speeding ball with a single hand with absolutely no effort, keeping a straight face as he simply looked at us with no expression.
"Uh, you guys want this back?" Neko asked as Kicken slowly nodded, making Neko hop down from the tree he was in.
He flipped into the air and spun in a circle at quick speeds, tossing the ball into the air and kicking it towards Kicken, making him flinch as he held his hand out to catch the ball.
But the ball stopped at his feet as it rolled to his shin slowly, letting him pick it up safely as he slowly let out a sigh.
"That scared me for a sec..." Kicken mumbled as he faced me again, ready to throw the ball, but I immediately had doubts in trying again.
"Hold on, Neko seems to be able to catch things easily, why doesn't he try to bat?" I asked as I saw Neko stop in his tracks as he turned around and glided on the ground towards me.
He stopped in front of me with a straight face before answering me with a simple sentence.
"You can't be serious." Neko mumbled to me as everything went dead silent, Neko staring at me in disbelief as I slowly nodded to show that I was completely serious.
"I only caught it because I was caught off guard, my reflexes work in the wrong ways." Neko responded, to which I tilted my head in response to.
Everyone else also seemed to be confused as they all whispered amongst themselves, yet Neko kept looking at me.
"Look, long story short, if I'm completely focused, my reflexes are terrible, if I have no idea what's going on, I can technically counter anything." Neko explained as I sighed softly.
"Can you at least be an outfielder? Maybe just catching the ball?" I asked.
"Okay... But I'm trusting you on this..." Neko mumbled as he dashed to the nearby field, ready to catch the ball.
Kicken quickly got into position and threw the ball at me, to which I swung, hearing a crack in the air as the ball was sent flying into the air.
But as soon as I heard that snap, I immediately realized what I had done wrong, if Neko was READY to catch the ball, he wouldn't be able to catch it at all...!
"Uh oh..." Is all I could muster before dropping the bat and running towards the ball as fast as I could, pushing everyone out of my way.
And as I guessed, I couldn't get there in time, and Neko held out his hand in the air, expecting to catch the ball easily.
But the ball slipped from his hand as it hit him right in the face, he held his face in his hands as he hissed a bit.
Everyone gasped and stood still, then once again, everything went quiet as everyone watched Neko.
Neko lifted up his head from his hands, and his face was cracked open, he was bleeding profusely, and his eye was hanging out of its socket.
He stared at me with what I could only assume to be anger, and he looked mad... Really... REALLY mad...
"U- Uh... Neko...? If you want, I could... Go get some towels and help you patch yourself up-" I offered in a last attempt to save myself, but before I knew it, Neko had dashed right in front of me.
All I felt was something grabbing my leg as Neko smiled a bit before lifting me off the ground, swinging me in a circle in the air as everyone screamed and shouted in terror.
I had gotten very dizzy, and I couldn't tell what was happening anymore, but I was then tossed into the air as I heard everyone else start screaming and shouting as I felt something kick me into a nearby tree.
I slid down the tree as I saw a faint glimpse of Neko dashing towards me, before dropkicking me straight through the tree, then teleporting behind me and kicking me back to where everyone else was.
I was very hurt, I couldn't even stand up, I wanted to transform, I wanted to defend myself, but I couldn't, everyone was watching...
Everyone stepped back, begging Neko to stop as he walked towards me slowly, stopping behind me as I looked back, looking at his dismembered face.
"Neko! Calm down, he didn't mean it!" Kicken shouted as Neko looked at him, making him silent almost immediately.
Neko scoffed a bit before grabbing his eye and ripping the rest of it out as he threw it down, leaving it on the ground as he walked away, into the forest.
We all stood there in shock as I laid on the ground, terrified for my life, staring at the eye that Neko left in the ground.
Everyone gathered around to help me up, patching me up and making sure I was alright, and I was fine mostly after all of that.
But now I knew... Now I knew that Dogday was right about someone needing to take care of Neko, that guy isn't okay mentally...
