(Catnap's POV)

Me and Dogday had woken up to the soft and muffled sound of knocking coming from downstairs, so I immediately got up and opened the attic door, and jumped down.

I ran downstairs as I opened the door and saw Crafty standing in the doorway, looking a bit sad, and scared.

"Catnap... Get Dogday, Neko and Maxwell have something to say..." Crafty muttered as she turned around and slowly walked to everybody else, who were in some type of group circle.

I left the door open and quickly ran back upstairs, climbing up the attic ladder and shaking Dogday awake.

He looked panicked and quickly looked around before seeing me, calming down as he hugged me slightly.

"Good morning, Catnap..." Dogday mumbled as he looked at me lovingly, yet I had to snap him out of it.

"Dogday, Neko and Maxwell need us, get up." I stated as Dogday slowly got up and followed me downstairs as we made our way out of the front door.

I closed the door as we headed to the group of others, they were all standing idly by as Neko started talking immediately after me and Dogday showed up.

"Alright, now that everybody is here..." Neko started, handing the situation to Maxwell immediately.

"We just need to tell everyone... That we... We need to go..." Maxwell stated as everyone looked sort of confused.

"Go? Go where?" Dogday asked as Maxwell tried finding the right words.

"Like... Go back to our universe..." Neko stated, cutting Maxwell off as everyone gasped, looking scared, and confused.

"What?! But I thought you had to wait a couple of years?!" Kicken objected, Neko shaking his head.

"We thought that too, apparently, we were both way off... It was actually a couple of weeks, not years." Maxwell added, adding a whole lot more to the chaos.

Everyone started freaking out as Neko and Maxwell looked at each other, looking seriously sad about all of this.

Me and Dogday looked at each other, and when I saw him, he looked like he was about to cry, although I don't really understand why, Maxwell and Neko just needed to move on, is all...

"C- Catnap, what about Neko?! He won't be able to function by himself!" Dogday said, grabbing my shoulders as he too started to freak out.

I hugged him as I gently explained that everything would be fine, as Neko had Maxwell to guide him.

"So, before we both... Leave... We just wanted to thank you for the time we had here, it was truly a blast..." Neko stated as Maxwell nodded a bit.

"I've barely gotten to know you all, but to be honest, from everyone here I have interacted with, you all genuinely seemed like great people." Maxwell said, sort of making me tear up a bit too.

"But don't worry, I'll come back to visit you guys every once in a while! Maxwell might not, I dunno, but I definitely will eventually!" Neko stated, putting everyone to a bit of ease.

"A- And how long will that be?" Bubba asked from the back of the crowd.

"Oh, just a couple weeks, I'm sure." Neko estimated as he looked at Maxwell, who nodded a bit at him.

"Well, that short announcement was all we had to say, it's been fun, but we should get going now..." Maxwell stated as Neko held his hand in front of him for a second.

"But before I leave, I wanna give everyone a goodbye hug, since everyone here actually gave me some pretty fond memories..." Neko said, and soon enough, everyone hugged Neko as he held everyone for a prolonged period of time.

After he hugged everyone, he smiled a bit as a portal appeared behind both Neko and Maxwell.

"Well, it's been fun guys, bye-bye!" Neko waved as he smiled softly, jumping through the portal backwards as Maxwell stood there.

He gave us one last look as he looked back through the portal, then quickly dropped something on the ground on purpose, then jumping through the portal as it closed.

Everyone was stunned, yet some of us looked at the object Maxwell dropped, and it was a picture, a picture of everyone huddled up in a group photo.

It had a signature from Maxwell and Neko on it, and everybody finally came to their senses and realized Maxwell had left it as a parting gift.

After a short while, we all discussed on when Neko would eventually show up again, some estimating weeks, others exaggerating into years because of their negative thoughts.

Dogday looked at me as he asked me a simple question...

"How... How long do you think it will be, Catnap...?" Dogday asked me as I thought for a while.

I had an overwhelming feeling to just speak my mind, as it was the only thing I could think to say at that time.

"He'll be back, in a couple weeks, like he said..." I stated.

"I'm sure of it, Dogday."
