(Dogday's POV)

Me and Catnap were inside his house relaxing and cuddling in bed together before we both eventually decided to get up after a few hours.

"Dogday... Do we have to get up...?" Catnap asked me softly as he rubbed his eyes, groaning as he stretched a bit.

"Yeah, I don't want to either, Catnap. But we can't just lay here all day..." I said as I sat up and was about to get out of bed, but his tail wrapped around my waist and he brought me closer to him.

He turned me around to face him as he put his hand on my cheek before speaking softly.

"If you don't wanna get out of bed... Then why don't I give you more of a reason to stay hm?~" Catnap asked seductively as I blushed a bit.

"Wha- C- Catnap! No...! It's too early, we can't do that now..." I exclaimed as I gently pushed Catnap's hand away from my face and then I turned around and hopped out of bed.

I made my way downstairs as Catnap sighed, then he followed me soon after as I made both of us cups of tea.

I had drank mine very quickly, it had a tiny bit of cinnamon in it, meanwhile Catnap for some reason had a bit of grape juice in his, and I didn't understand why, it's not like that would taste good, right?

Before I could finish that thought, Catnap had put his cup in his sink as he walked over to me and gave me a small kiss on the cheek as I blushed and snapped out of my daze.

"Well? C'mon, you're the one who wanted to get up so badly..." Catnap teased me as I scoffed and rushed out the front door with him as we both looked around for something to do.

But what we saw when we both looked left was Neko laying down on his belly on top of Kicken's house, kicking his feet in the air as he looked to be resting.

"How did he get up there? It's super high!" I asked Catnap in a whispering manner as Catnap shrugged.

But before anything else could happen, Neko saw us from a distance and sat up, sitting in the classic criss cross applesauce position as he looked at us.

"Hi guys! Glad you're awake!" Neko exclaimed happily as he waved at us, he seemed oddly happy and joyful to see us...

"Hey, Neko! Good morning to you too!" Catnap said softly, yet loud enough for Neko to hear us.

I was about to speak, but Neko suddenly sat up and jumped off the roof, landing neck first onto the ground.

"OH MY GOD!" Me and Catnap both yelled in terror as we sprinted towards Neko, to which he sat up and shook his head violently.

"Ow, that kinda hurt..." Neko mumbled to himself, his neck twisting and tilting as he looked at us.

We both stared in shock as he snapped his neck back into place and looked at us with joy and happiness, his tail swaying in the air.

He got up and hugged us both as he purred softly, making me and Catnap look at each other in confusion.

He let us go as he continued smiling and purring, making me start to question if he was actually okay.

"Neko... Are you feeling alright? Why are you so happy all of a sudden? You're normally quiet and shy." I asked as Neko just responded with a simple phrase that hit way harder than it should have.

"Because one day, I won't be here anymore." Neko said softly, still smiling.

"I was just showing how much I love you guys, you're great friends, but I only have two main goals in life." Neko stated.

"My first one is to find a man named Maxwell Pain, you might have heard of him, I dunno, but my second goal is to uh..." Neko trailed off from his statement.

"Well, I guess it's just to die!" Neko said as he continued smiling.

"W- What...? Why?" Catnap asked as Neko still continued smiling softly.

"Eh, life is too cruel to me, I've had a lot of important people and things to me die, sometimes in front of me, sometimes in my arms, sometimes because of me..." Neko explained.

"And just because life is boring, and I've lost most, if not all reason to live, the only thing keeping me from trying out every possible way to die, is you guys! So, thanks for that." Neko said as he continued smiling.

Me and Catnap looked at each other as we both teared up a bit, nodding slightly as we both quickly gave Neko a hug at the same time.

He hesitantly hugged us back as he continued purring, and slowly, but surely, he began falling asleep again.

Eventually, he fell asleep completely and I picked him up as I looked at Catnap before speaking.

"I'll keep him at my place, I'll make sure he stays okay, because clearly, someone needs to look after him." I stated as Catnap nodded as I walked home.

I opened the front door to my house and walked upstairs, opening my bedroom door, then placing Neko in my bed as I covered him with a bunch of blankets and pillows to make him stay comfortable.

I wrote a note down, saying that we cared for him and that if he needed anything, we would rather be outside, or in Catnap's house.

I then left my house to go play with Catnap, and that's basically all we did for the next couple of hours.

As the sun set, me and Catnap cuddled under a tree, it wasn't cold outside, but it wasn't exactly warm either, so us cuddling each other gave us the perfect warmth.

I'm seriously concerned for Neko, we need to look after him more often, and I mean that in a serious matter.
