When Lena came back out to the living room she saw Kara seated on the sofa flipping through channels on the television. "Hey! Get everything situated?" Kara asked as Lena sat next to her. "Yes, thank you again for letting me stay here." Lena replied. "Lee, listen you are welcome here anytime day or night. You understand?" Kara stated as she draped her arm around the raven haired woman pulling her into her side. "Thank you Kar, that means a lot to me. So what are we watching?" Lena asked trying to act casual. "Well we can watch this cheesy rom com or friends?" Kara suggested with a shrug. "Cheesy rom com!" Lena explained happily as she grabbed the remote and clicked the movie.

A few minutes into the movie their sandwiches arrived. They quickly returned the movie sandwiches in hand. They ate in a comfortable silence neither of them noticing how they moved closer together until they were side by side. After the movie they separated and Lena took her turn in the bathroom and bedroom getting ready while Kara waited out in the living room. A long few minutes later it was Kara's turn and she took her time instead of using her super speed to get everything done. Lena was now in the living room getting her gown on so they could each surprise each other with a first look.

"Lena! Are you ready?" Kara called as she zipped up her gown. "Yes! I'm all set! Come out when you're ready Kar!" Lena replied as she turned around in the living room and waited for the blonde. Kara took a few deep breaths before she put on her heels and walked out of the bathroom. Her eyes landed on the raven haired beauty in the deep blue gown her heart raced as she approached her. "Lee..." Kara half whispered causing the other to turn around.

Lena's mouth hit the floor at the sight of her best friend. Kara had on a dark red gown with a deep v neck line and ruffles around the base. It was strapless and clung to her body like a tight glove. Her hair was done up in a tight bun with two strands of hair that framed her face like a halo. "Lena? You ok?" Kara asked softly. "Uhh....ummmmm! Yes! Kara! You look absolutely stunning!" Lena exclaimed. "Thank you Lee! You look beautiful too! Are you ready?" Kara asked looking into the green eyes of Lena for an answer. "Yes! The limo's here, so we should go..." Lena replied her eyes lingering over Kara for a brief moment before holding the apartment door open.

They walked out of the apartment arm in arm to an awaiting limo. "Really Lee? All this just to go to a gala?" Kara asked as she slid into the seat. "Yes...I thought it would be nice to show how much you meant to me...as a friend..." Lena quickly added as she joined Kara. The ride to the gala was a quick one but it gave enough time for Lena to go over her plan to make Kara hers. "There's gonna be a lot of press here. I'm warning you now they'll be snapping pictures of us. But I want you to know that I'll hold your hand the entire time. Ok?" Lena asked as the limo came to a stop outside a grand hotel. "Of course Lee!" Kara stated as the door opened and Lena slid out before turning and sticking out her hand to the blonde. Just as she said cameras began flashing at them as the CEO and Cat Co reporter walked hand in hand into the hotel.
