"Let's go shopping for things to take home." Lena stated one morning over breakfast. "Alright! Let's finish up here and go get ready to go." Kara replied. A few minutes later they were both showered and dressed, and in the car heading to town once again. "So...I was thinking we could go to the library today to browse the archives on deaths in the area." Kara suggested. "That would be a good idea. Maybe we can find out something about my mom." Lena replied.

The car stopped outside the library and the women exited the car together. "Are you ready?" Kara asked. "Yes. I want to learn about her." Lena replied. "Let's go Lee..." Kara replied taking her hand as they walked into the library together. "How can I help you today?" The old man behind the counter asked. "Yes...we'd like to see the archives from 1997." Lena stated. "Ok...follow me please." The man said. They followed him down a hallway to a door. "In here. There's boxes of everything that happened that year. Every box is labeled. If you need any help come find me." The man stated. "Ok thank you." Kara replied as they walked in shutting the door behind them.

Lena scanned the boxes before pulling one that said 'Obituaries' on it. "Kar...come look." Lena whispered as she lifted the top of the box off. Kara sat beside her as they began looking through the papers. A few long minutes later Lena had found something. "Look! Marybeth Walsh died today while swimming at her family's home. She leaves behind a niece Lena Walsh and twin sister by the name of Elizabeth Walsh." Lena breathed. "Your mom had a twin! So that means she didn't die! She's alive! LEE! She's alive!" Kara exclaimed happily.

Lena sat back in shock. "She's been alive all this time! It was my aunt I watched die? And she never came looking for me? Kara...we need to find her! We need to know why she never came looking for me!" Lena gasped as tears streamed her face. Kara pulled Lena into her arms and held her as she cried. "We will. We'll find her and we'll ask her all the questions." Kara replied. Lena sobbed into Kara's shirt for a good few minutes before she calmed down enough to continue looking through the papers.

A half hour later they were leaving the library and began making her way to a gift shop of sorts. "This is a unique shop." Kara said as they walked into the little shop. "It smells like lavender and jasmine." Lena whispered. "Your favorite scents...curious." Kara replied as she held Lena's hand. "Don't let go...." Lena whispered. "I would never do that Lee." Kara replied wrapping her arm around Lena's waist.

They  perused the shop just looking at everything that was for sale in there when the sounds of beads rattling altered them to someone coming out of the back room. Green and blue eyes flashed upwards to meet the green eyes of a woman. No one spoke a word. They were just gaping at one another. "Lee...it's the same woman...from the grocery shop." Kara whispered as she held on to Lena's waist tighter. "Kar...is this a dream?" Lena whispered. "No darling...it's no dream..." Kara replied softly.

"....mom?" Lena breathed softly. "It is I...my dear Lena. You mustn't be here! You should leave immediately!" Elizabeth shouted. "What? Why?" Lena snapped. "They're watching me! Lionel...Lilian...Lex...I am not to have contact with you." Elizabeth stated. "They're dead!" Kara exclaimed. Elizabeth went silent. "Dead....all of them?" Elizabeth asked. "Yes. They're all dead. There's no one left but me...and now Kara." Lena replied clinging to Kara's arm.

Elizabeth looked between Kara and Lena with her mouth open in shock. "Oh...my little Lena..." Elizabeth exclaimed as she began walking over to the women. Lena tensed up immediately. "Lee...why don't we sit and talk ok?" Kara said. "Yea...ok..." Lena replied as they walked over to the small table with Elizabeth. "Let me start at the beginning..." Elizabeth began.
