'We all are in our way of getting some of our own back.'

I knew luck was something that was never on my side a long time ago, but still, it doesn't faze to surprise me because it is in moments like this that I hate to be like I am.

I look up and my eyes fall on Kai, I instantly want to turn my gaze or worse run, but unfortunately for me, I've been a captive of his gaze for a long time now.

I feel the tension in between our eyes, I want to pull away but I am angry at myself for not being able to do so. As we rock eyes I find myself being more angrier at him for looking at me the way he is looking at me. Stop it, dammit.

What is he even doing out here? Isn't it earlier for him to have lunch?
What was the rate of us meeting here?

I feel a tap on my hand and it pulls me out of the curse that I am under Kai, I turn to my mother and smile at her.

"Where is your father's office." I keep my smile on my face as I realize this is my mother's first time visiting my father and entering inside.

We came here first at the gala night but she never got to make it to see his office, and then they came to say goodbye to me and Dad when Mom, sav, and Yarrow were leaving to tour Rwanda and that time we met them outside the building too, so they again never got the chance to come in.

I look at my mother as I maintain to keep a poker face on with a smile planted on my face like I am not going crazy with confused feelings and trying hard to keep Kai out of my mind, soul, and system so that I can feel him trying to penetrate in.

"This way Mom." I direct her to where we will be walking with my arm and we start walking, good for me I don't get to pass beside him because I feel like he would take my breath away or worse I could collapse to the ground if I got any closer.

He works on the first floor and my mom is heading to my father's office so we walk to the stairs and walk away.

We reach my father's office and I find myself releasing a relieved breath when I turn to find an empty hallway. Somehow I was scared that he would follow us.

My mother knocks and as if he knew it was her, he comes to open the door himself.
He grins at my mother and then takes her in his arms.
I watch as he breathes her scent in and sighs lovingly. I look away because I know what awaits just after the hug.

They pull away and I can hear the sound of their lips on one another.
They stop and I look back at my dad.

"You are here too?" He asks looking at me and I just nod my head.

"Didn't you go to school?" I shake my head. "I felt tired so I slept in." He turns to look at my mother for more explanation but she just waves her hand in the air for him to let it go and I roll my eyes when he does.

He walks to the side and allows us to move into his office.
I realize he's had it decorated because the last time I was in here, he didn't have the cushions that he has now.

We walk and take seats on them, Mom sits beside my father and I just sit facing them.

"We brought lunch," Mom says and Dad grins for the millionth time since we got here.
"My darling wife, how was I blessed?" He asks and I watch as Mom smiles back at him.

"How?" He leans in her, beside her left ear. "To have you as my wife." He is laying kisses on my mother's shoulder, she turns and she meets my gaze. She smiles at me before she pulls my father away from her slowly.

"We have company Barney, our daughter is here." I can hear him groan. "She should have gone to school then or..." Before he continues he pulls away from my mother and sits properly looking right at me.
