*** Your POV ***

"You're not looking so well dear."

Alastor popped out of the shadows in front of you while you were making your ways back to your room. Startling you enough to make you lean on the wall next to you with an elbow.

"No shit." You retorted before straightening your self back up and attempting to walk past him.

"Whatever could be the matter? Hmmmm?" Alastor hummed in his usually slightly patronizing tone.

"Uuugghhh, if I tell you will you let me get to my room and laydown?" You whined slightly, your head buzzing and your stomach giving you occasional pangs of sharp pain was not doing you well.

"Certainly."

"Blood. Part of my hell's diet, but Husker doesn't serve any, and I can't get it anywhere else."

"Why not go hunting outside the hotel? There are plenty of unfortunate scum out there." Alastor twirled his staff as to point to a nearby window with it.

"Even if I did 'hunt,' I can't." He looked at you quizzically. "I can't leave the hotel." Before he could ask the next question you stopped him by raising a finger almost to his lips, causing him to focus on it reflexively and almost going cross eyed for a second. "Don't ask, I don't want you accidentally getting involved in my self made nightmare."

"Fine, fine!" Alastor waved his fingers at you but on the inside his interest was quite peaked. "How about this, another deal? No need for a shake this time, I'll take you on your word."

You looked at him with slightly narrowed eyes, trying to discern something from behind that smiling facade, but the only thing you knew for certain is he was clearly curious and nosey. But you were also desperate to get blood in your system. "Shoot your shot."

"I go out on my next hunt and bring you back some blood, in return, over a drink you tell me why is it that you can't leave the hotel."

"I am not sure that is as good a deal for you as you might think." You responded, did he not listen about the part where he could get involved in a mess if he knew? Or did this crazy psycho just not care?

"MMhhh, thats for me to decide. Is it a deal?" You thought about it for a second. He already knew about your ability which was really the bigger secret here, and you needed help.

"Alright."

"Excellent!" With that Alastor walked away, his shadow following him behind, switching sides of the corridor playfully, allowing you to finally make it to your door and collapse on the bed.

*** Alastor's POV ***

I was walking down the hall watching my shadow jump around with narrowed eyes. It was giving me an incredulous look like it had something to say. I made a couple of quick turns and went up a few stairs until I made it to my office and shut the door before turning to it "Spit it out."

"Really Alastor, all it takes is a pretty girl to heal your wounds up and feed you some of her blood and you go soft?" My shadow was behind my desk with its arms crossed. "Don't you remember you just almost died because of getting too attached?"

"I have not gone soft." I protested, going over to my personal liquor cabinet. "And I am definitely not getting attached."

"Oh, so why did you offer to help her?"

"Y/n helped me, so I am doing a favor in return." I reason, pulling out some whiskey and crystal glass.

"She helped you, under a deal." The shadow responded going behind the cabinet to try to make eye contact as I poured a glass.

"But that deal was completely in my favor, she helped me and divulged information. She gained nothing from it. "

"And since when do you care?" The shadow gave out a low growl.

It was right. Since when did I care? Isn't making lopsided deals the way I got to where I was? I couldn't really answer so I just sat down in my chair and leaned back, taking a large sip of my drink.

"Not that I am judging, I am a part of you." The shadow continued, suddenly its voice bright and chipper, "She really is quite interesting, so much in those deep dark eyes of hers. Oh and I would just eat, her, uuuppppp ~" It moaned indulgently.

"We can't eat her she's considered a hotel resident." I retorted. Yes the shadow was me, we shared emotions and desires, but it was also not me. It's like a small essence of me got split off when I got to hell and became it, so we developed separately despite still being part of one person. But it was forgetting itself here, we can't hurt hotel personnel or guests.

"I don't mean that sort of eat." The shadow mimicked me sitting on the chair, except with a wide suggestive grin.

"I can't believe my shadow is a pervert enough to even say something like that." I haven't had relations like such with anyone in decades. It always was so pointless, like I told Rosie I never understood the appeal.

"It is very much because I am a part of you that I do." The shadow cooed.

"Then how come I have never felt the need for that kind of, debauchery." I questioned.

"Because you've never let anyone get close enough."

"If you remember - I have in fact, at your request." It wasn't exactly an unpleasant set of memories, just not ones I particularly cared for either. A few dates, a few nights and some conversations. They were just there like passing moments of the day. I could do without them, but they didn't bother me. Regardless, point was I've tried and never felt anything that extra ordinary, so I just never have since.

"Not physically you oaf." The shadow shifted with irritation, "Emotionally. You've never let a person in enough to let go and enjoy."

"Were you not just scolding me for getting too attached?" I laughed taking another sip, it was really starting to contradict itself now. But to my frustration, the shadow just shrugged.

"I was also just telling you that I am you, so I can't judge you for our feelings."

I glared at it, still sipping on my drink. We remained in silence until the glass was empty and I teleported it away to the kitchen sink downstairs with a snap of my fingers. "Well, I guess I am going hunting." I said, and made my way out the door.
