*** Your POV ***

It was time to return to reality. Alastor had secured you a few days of peace, but it couldn't last forever. There was still the hotel, the V's and Heaven's ever growing stick up their ass. However, you felt much better, lighter like you were breathing with your whole chest. So, you two got ready together in your usual attire. Though adding a couple of touches you found during your shopping spree the other day. You had a red pin keeping your hair together, while Alastor put a black flower in the front pocket of his suit. They were subtle, but pleasing additions.

When you came back to the hotel a cacofany of voices broke out, some sounded annoyed while others just curious.

"Where the hell have you been?" Finally Charlie managed to get into the front of the crowd and ask the two of you. "I've been trying to call you, and..." She paused looking over the two of you, clearly the gears in her head turning. Alastor had his arm around you and on your waist, the other holding his cane.

"Yes dear?" Alastor prompted her to continue.

"Are you two officially a thing now? Can we all stop pretending that we don't know?" Charlie crossed her arms.

"Hah!" Alastor chuckled in amusement, "I don't think I ever asked anyone to do that but yes dear that would be the case. Y/n here is my woman, I am her man, there is no need to pretend otherwise." He bent over putting his thumb and forefinger on your chin pulling your face up and captureing your lips briefly, but fully. When he let go your cheeks were painted red; you probably were not ever going to get used to Alastors propensity for sweeping public gestures like this. Although he was a private man in general, when it came to making a statement he never held back.

"Soooo you can leave the hotel now?" Angel Dust asked once Alastor had let you go enough to let you breathe and turn around. It appears they figured that much out on their own, since you never explicitly told them anything.

"Yeah. Thanks to Alastor. And..." You took a look at Lucifer who was holding his hat in his hands, playing with the rim anxiously.

"No... don't thank me." He muttered out, "I should have done it a long time ago. Its embarrassing that it took Alastor forcing me."

"What did you even give Paimon for my soul?" You asked, genuinely curious. Ignoring the confused gasps from Angel Dust and Husker. That was news to them apparently.

"Nothing." Lucifer admitted, still not facing you, "I came to him under the pretense of a deal but once there I gave the divine order to had your soul over to Alastor."

"Wont that... be a problem?" That was a huge surprise as you thought one of the major reasons Lucifer didn't do this sooner was because him using a divine order to interfere with soul deals like this could potentially make the royals of hell distrusting of him and rise up. Lucifer was the most powerful being in all of Hell, but even he would have a struggle against all the Goetia and half of the seven sins put together, and he didn't have Lillith's support right now, as she's been gone for years. Even you knew about that.

"I may have told him that if he were to try anything I would personally replace him with Stolas. I heard about him visiting from Charlie and that he seemed like a reasonable man - and that he was your close friend."

That made more sense. Stolas would hate that, but it would solve any issue Paimon may have tried to start, especially if this all happened because Lucifer made a move to get your soul from him. Paimon's idea of "precautionary heirs" misfired on him in this case. And this was information Lucifer couldn't have used before, since he only found out you and Stolas are friends recently.

"Well I'm glad this whole... shitstorm got figured out, but don't we have another issue?" Husker chimed in.

"Oh! Right!" Charlie jumped almost a foot in the air. "The reason we've been trying to reach you, we are going over to the V's headquarters right now"
