*** WARNING: Violence ahead, including physical assault, some groping, and then torture and death. Buckle up butter cups this is a long and heavy one. I debated splitting it into two chapters, but ultimately decided to keep it long and have a summary at the beginning of the next chapter in case people want to skip.

*** Your POV ***

"Alastor I would like you to leave Y/n here." Lucifer told the stag demon sternly. Emily's presense and the news she brought made everybody tense. Charlie and her father had come down from a long discussion among themselves, ultimately agreeing that they need to go see the V's and tell them this sooner rather than later. As this kind of changed everything - how could Charlie or anyone really ask people to go up to heaven and lose the memories of their loved ones? Sure, some would agree but it was no longer something that was a viable option for many. In fact, the prime example was standing in front of them with Alastor and you.

"Y/n can come if she wants." Alastor stated flatly, he had very little tolerance for being ordered around, and even less for someone trying to tell you what you can or cannot do or where you can and cannot go. It rubbed him way the wrong way.

"No! Ugh!" Lucifer smacked his face then rubbed his eyes, "Thats not what I meant. I mean its clear she is a point of tension between you and them, I just don't want any drama."

"There won't be any drama if they behave with a little bit of class." Alastor thumped his cane down and put his palms on top of it.

"Thats the problem! We can't guarantee that!" Lucifer was sounding exasperated. Unfortunately though, he was right. Velvette was cool headed so she didn't cause trouble unless she knew she could get away with it but Alastor had major beef with Vox before you came along and that has only gotten worse, meanwhile Valentino has already attempted to make you into a present for the V's once. You were clearly a catalyst for trouble. You took a deep breath and went up to Alastor's side, squeezing your way under his arm. This prompted him to look down at you, loosening the grip on his cane, instead wrapping his arm around your shoulders.

"Starlight, I'll stay here. I'll be upstairs and we can go out when you come back." You said quietly, loud enough just for Alastor to hear.

"But..." He protested briefly but then his shoulders sank. He wasn't ignorant, he knew Lucifer was right, he just didn't want to leave you here if he didn't have to. "Alright sunshine. Maybe I'll bring you back a souvenir." He joked giving you a kiss on the ear. You helped him put his coat back on which you still had from earlier. The others watched with odd expressions, but it didn't matter to you. Once Alastor was all buttoned up he stepped away to follow Lucifer out of the door, who turned to you gratefully mouthing "thank you" as they walked out.

"Nope, still fucking weird." Husker chuckled leaning onto the bar counter with both arms and placing his chin on his palm. "I thought him being drunk was weird but no, him being all... gentle is weirder. Kind of unsettling."

"Oh shut it kittums." You waved him off jokingly and headed upstairs, deciding to grab a book from the library and head up to the balcony to read. It felt like a good way to keep yourself occupied until Alastor came back. You didn't want to stay inside and risk crossing paths with Emily if she came down either, just not something you wanted to deal with right now.

You browsed the shelves briefly, finding a suitable read relatively quickly then found a nice bench to reside on as you got to the balcony. You found one looking out onto the garden in the back of the hotel, a little secluded behind the corner of a wall. The light breeze up here felt nice, and you could smell the flowers from all the way down there. You didn't really pay attention to the time as you flipped through the pages, just moseying your way through the book.
