Previous chapter summary for those who opted to skip due to triggering content:

Alastor leaves with Lucifer and Charlie to a meeting with the Vs, you being left behind due to being a clear point of tension. However, only two of the V's show up at the meeting, Valentino finds you back at the hotel and attacks you, after a "scuffle" you are able to call Alastor who appears and stops things. However the damage was done, and though your physical injuries healed immediately the mental ones didn't. To help that and get rid of the threat for good Alastor puts on a broadcast on which he tortures and kills Valentino, in the process also freeing Angel Dust's soul.

*** Vox's POV ***

Velvette and I had tried to pry Val out of Alastor's tentacles when he left the balcony with you, but it was to no avail. When they pulled him into a shadow and disappeared, we knew what was going to happen. Velvette was a kind of distraught I have never seen her, her phone laying forgotten on the ground with a cracked screen from when she dropped on her way to try to help Val. I wanted to scream and race up to the radio tower to kill Alastor, do something. But I was stopped by Lucifer's hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry. However, if you go up there to hurt him I will be forced to interfere on the hotel's behalf."

"How is that fair?" Velvette cried, "Alastor gets to just kill Valentino and we have to stand by and allow it?"

"Y/n and Alastor are both employees at my daughter's hotel. Y/n was attacked by Valentino, which we also can't just stand by and allow." Lucifer summed up, his voice was sullen. I knew what he was saying. Its not that he agreed with Alastor's methods, but in this case he couldn't have all of hell knowing this could happen at the hotel he was backing and nothing would be done about it. If anything, Alastor was about to do them a huge favor, though I doubt thats what he was thinking about.

No, he was thinking about you. I couldn't see your state fully as we were one of the last ones to arrive, but I noticed Alastor's shirt on you as he carried you out, your stare distant. Alastor most likely prevented something horrible happening to you. Well, he prevented Val happening to you. I knew what Valentino was of course, Velvette and I both did. The difference was he was a very different person to us than he was to everyone else. It was easy to forget his nature underneath when with us he was nothing but a bumbling lover, sweet and attentive.

I lead Velvette downstairs holding her shoulders, and held her as she cried through the broadcast. She had known Val for longer than I, and I knew they had each other through some rough shit. Some of which I didn't even know the details of. She is the one who made me see Valentino as more than just the narcissistic pimp he appeared to everyone else as. Maybe we should have just left, but looking in each other eyes I knew we both felt wrong for doing so. Even if we couldn't stop it, leaving felt like we were abandoning Val completely.

"Thank you for tuning in ladies and gentlemen! I do hope you will remember todays broadcast. Alastor out."

The radio went silent. The broadcast was over. Val was dead.

This is going to be a media nightmare for us. I hated my self for these thoughts, I just listened my lover be tortured and killed on live radio and the first thing that my head went to was how much of a PR mess it was going to make. I really was a sick son of a bitch. I looked around and saw Charlie crying. I had really under estimated her tender heart. I knew she didn't like Valentino either, but she also didn't like to see people suffer. I even felt guilty for using the hotel for our profit as I looked at her bawling her eyes out for a man I knew most of the people here thought of as good riddance.

Everyone sat in grave silence until Alastor reappeared in the lobby. With what looked like a white ball in the hand free of his microphone cane. Even now he looked surreal to me, oozing charisma and confidence. I saw him saunter over to you, humming a little tune as he placed it on the counter and revealed the object. "Your souvenir, my sweet."

You grinned. Then you picked it up in your hands and twisted it around. It was a skull. The pink spider demon next to you exclaimed "That was an option!?" Oh yeah, I forgot he had plenty of reason to hate Valentino too.

"Lets go." Velvette whispered into my chest. "We can figure this shit out later." Looks like that was a final straw for her. And she was right, we could figure the rest of this out later. Its not like this changed the fact that there was a war with heaven now impending. I pulled her up and we silently walked out of the hotel, to my relief nobody really paid us any mind and we were able to make our way to the closest street camera without a problem - Alastor made sure there were none in the hotel which I needed to use my powers - and teleport back home.

*** Your POV ***

It was a bit of sadistic happiness you were feeling looking at Valentino's pristine skull. Alastor really knew how to clean a carcass, it was honestly impressive in a morbid kind of way.

"I still have the whole skeleton if you would like it." Alastor offered to Angel Dust. The two had never really gotten close, aside from the fact that Angel had voiced that he found Alastor attractive - but who didn't. Angel was, despite his past, a gentle soul and so Alastor's more cruel tendencies never landed with him before. But its like an string of understanding was threaded through him after this, sure there was enjoyment in the process but there was a reason behind the display, it was therapeutic.

"Naw, just a leg or something maybe? I could use it as a cane!" Angel Dust made a motion mimicking the way Alastor put both his palms on his microphone.

"Hah-ha, certainly." Alastor materialized a large femur bone and handed it over to Angel Dust. It was the perfect size for Angel Dust to use, no doubt he will bedazzle it for himself later.

"Oh fuck yes!" Angel cackled, "Thanks smiles!"

Alastor nodded then twirled his own cane behind his back and offered you a hand, which you took readily.

"Hey, has anyone seen Emily?" Vaggie suddenly asked as she was petting Charlie's back. It appears in all of the commotion everybody forgot about the newest addition to the hotel. Neither you or Alastor had much desire to go looking for her, you were just bone tired and Alastor did not have the ability to temper his distaste at the moment. So you stayed by the bar as everyone else ran around. Husker and Vaggie did eventually find her in one of the bathrooms throwing up. The poor thing just had a very rude awakening to the cruelties of hell.

"Think we can get away with going back to the house?" You asked Alastor quietly. But apparently not quietly enough for Charlie to miss it.

"Oh No! You two aren't just leaving and disappearing again!" Charlie yelled from across the room. Her fear of that was understandable, you and Alastor had a shown a propensity for not being easily reachable in moments like this, and there was much to talk about and discuss. They now had exactly no prospects for "truelly evil" sinners to try to redeem on top of the information about memories being erased when people got to heaven now being in the hands of the party whose core member Alastor just dispatched. And all signs pointing to there being no amicable resolution between heaven and hell, and heaven was poised to wipe the pride ring for good. Plus she was probably still peeved with Alastor despite also knowing that it was good riddance in general.

"Charlie I get it, we will be back tomorrow." You sighed, not wanting to sound like you weren't understanding the mess everyone was in, "But I just got groped and slammed into wall, I'd like to go home."

Charlie's gaze softened. Her own memories fleeting back to the day she went to Val's studio to try to get Angel more time at the hotel. She got angry herself back then too because of how gross Valentino was to her and how cruel he was to Angel Dust. It wasn't that she didn't understand, she just didn't like the torment, which you didn't blame her for - as much as you thought she was naïve for thinking he could be stopped any other way.

"Alright, I'm sorry." She apologized with a big exhale, "Just please at least have Al come by tomorrow, we have a lot to figure out."

"I ain't his keeper princess, but I'll do my best." You retorted, earning yourself a small chuckle from Alastor. Charlie rolled her eyes and waved at you two, which Alastor took as his que to hug you close and poof you home.
