*** Your POV ***
Today was finally the long awaited day of going to heaven. Maybe you should have been excited about it, but you weren't. As far as you were concerned beings up there were the reason your entire practice, your friends, your mentors, and your family were wiped out before finally the people worshipping them left you to starve to death a top a pole as an example. You had little to no desire to be so much as civil.
Lucifer had come down to the hotel wearing his best and whitest. Charlie and Vaggie were dressed up in matching purple suits, while you and Alastor pretty much wore the same red and black ensembles as usual. You having opted for cozy black sweater this time though and black earrings.
The portal opened and Alastor pulled you along with him, having you hold his arm as you entered. Ever since a few days ago when he kissed you, he has been much more physically affectionate. Anytime you weren't in direct view of others he pulled you close, sometimes summoning that favorite blanket of yours to cover you both with. Which as you guessed, did smell of him. His own scent now becoming something of an addiction of yours, anytime your nose hit his chest you would take a deep inhale. Alastor found this to be one of the most satisfying things since killing someone after a good chase.
He also took a liking of ambushing you in empty rooms and behind corners, using his palms to hold you by the waist and kiss you deeply. You couldn't help but think the man enjoyed leaving you breathless as some sort of game. The other hotel residents who spent enough time around the two of you had definitely started suspecting something at this point, but none of them were ballzy enough to ask, especially not with Alastor involved.
You crossed the portal and ended up in front of the pearly gates, a blonde man dressed in white greeted Lucifer and they talked for a bit before the doors opened and you were lead in. The man, who you heard Lucifer call Saint Peter, was looking at you and Alastor with suspicion and distaste as you walked by. By the gods you wanted to chuck him down into the cloudy depths below but oh well.
Lucifer followed a squat angel who took you down a path just before you got into the main city that winded around some statues until you reached an impressive looking building.
"Charlie!" A pretty little angel with white freckles hug tackled the princess.
"Emily!" By the wings and the other, much taller angel standing next to her you deduced that these were the Seraphims. Charlie kept talking to the little one, "Its so good to see you! Thank you for making sure we got the news!"
"Of course, it was so exciting when we saw him!"
"Uhm, yes, much to discuss." The taller one looked much more awkward and apprehensive, suddenly her voice grew cold, "Lucifer, can you explain to me what two sinners are doing here?" she said, her eyes going back and forth between Alastor and you.
"Oh uh..." Lucifer was fumbling, so Charlie stepped in.
"They are employees of the hotel! Alastor is the facility manager, Y/n is the receptionist. They came for the meeting." She exclaimed happily.
"I'm sorry but I cannot allow sinners, especially not... of that caliber, into the sacred court chambers. It would be blasphemy. I don't know which is worse the flesh eater or the... heathen." The seraphim looked at you with outright disgust.
"Your own book refers to eating the flesh and drinking the blood of Christ, one could argue we just followed the teachings more literally." You tilted your head in emphasis of your words, you really had just about no tolerance for this.
"Does it really dear? My, my, who knew my dinners could be counted as holy worship." Alastor exclaimed waving his radio cane around, a laughing soundtrack playing in the back ground just to mock the situation a little further. It made you feel better that he was helping.
"I'm sure they can be on their best behavior!" Charlie shot you two a bit of a dirty glance, "Shouldn't we be encouraging sinners by showing them the best hospitality?"
"I'm sorry, but the decision is final. They are are free to join you in the guest house and be shown around Heaven City with supervision." The Seraphim didn't look pleased to even concede this much.
"But -"
"Charlie, we talked about this." Lucifer muttered quietly. And Charlie sighed in defeat.
"Alright, lets go."
With that the Seraphims lead you to the guest house, a little house on the corner of the city which had a few rooms for all of you to stay in, not that you were going to be there for long enough to stay the night, but it was somewhere to hang out before the actual meeting started.
The older Seraphim left immediately, but Emily stuck around chatting with Charlie. You and Alastor sat off to the side in a couple of armchairs, you feeling decidedly uncomfortable. Alastor sensed as much, and looked around to find a chess board on the other side of the room. He stood up sauntering over to it and picked it up with one hand, looking pleased with his find. You watched his movements, so confidant and elegant as always. To your amusement as he walked past the chatting blondes Emily had started following him with wide eyes as well. Well, the girl had taste, you had to give her that. Alastor made his way back, placing the chessboard on the little table between you before leaning his cane on the side of the chair and sitting down, seemingly unaware that the little angel had followed him.
"Hello sir!" She chirped up.
"Hello dear, is there something I can help you with?" Alastor said sounding amicable enough, but clearly not enthused either. You took it upon yourself to start setting up the board, hoping Alastor would handle whatever she may have to say because you could not be trusted to bite your tongue.
"Oh uh, no I was just wondering if you will eventually be trying for redemption? Wouldn't it be nice to come live here?"
"No. I will not be." Alastor answered simply, returning his gaze to the board you were setting up.
"Oh." Emily looked a little taken a back by such a definite and simple response, and even a little disappointed. Apperantly Emily and Nifty shared a liking for "bad bois," Nifty was just in a much better place to find them. "What about -"
Charlie cut in before she could start asking you questions, at least she had as much sense to stop this here. "They are employees not patients we aren't requiring them to participate if they don't want to."
"Oh I see." Emily still seemed unconvinced, "But just so you know I doubt the other court members will be willing to approve of the hotel without even more steps to prove it works. We barely got them to agree to the meeting."
"How did you manage to convince them anyway?" Lucifer had come as well, and suddenly your secluded corner of the room didn't feel so secluded.
"Well, some one.... convinced Sera that it may be worth a shot." Emily said tentatively, playing with her hands.
"Someone?" Charlie probed, probably hoping to find out who this supposed ally to her hotel was.
"I am not supposed to say." Emily raised her hands up apologetically, "But there is someone who is trying to get the court on board with the hotel."
"I would love to meet them!" The princess said happily.
"I'm sure you would, but... I can't. I'm sorry. I could get in massive trouble." Emily sounded genuinely sorry she couldn't say more.
"We get it." Lucifer sighed, but it was probably only him that really got it until he continued, "None of us want you to get in trouble and end up... well end up like me."
Whatever or whomever it was helping the hotel from the backlines was clearly a secret that could get someone cast down into hell for revealing. That was intriguing in and of it self. You took a look at Alastor as you set up the last piece, who also had face full of thought at the small reveal of information. But unfortunately it just wasn't enough to take any guesses as to who that might be.
The crowd finally dispersed and you and Alastor played a silent game until the older Seraphim came back to lead the others to the meeting chamber, while somebody else came in behind her who was presumably to be your chaperone.
