*** Your POV, present day ***
You felt so broken. The sight of Alastor looking right past you as he made a deal for your soul flickering as you saw Percivals face when he did the same. What followed though, was very different.
The next instant felt like whirlwind. You got knocked back with force as Alastor's soul chain broke, expecting hard ground to hit your shoulders but instead you found youself wrapped in a pair of warm arms, Alastor having softened your blow despite his own injuries.
"YOU FUCKING BASTARD, WHERE IS HER SOUL? YOU TRICKED ME!" Lillith was screaming like a banshee.
And then you felt it, your soul. It was... with you. For what felt a full minute, but in reality was only a couple of seconds you marveled at the feeling of it. Like a little black warm flame orb that was rolling around in your chest. You could feel the varius gashes and tears from the pain, the betraylas, all the times you've lost hope. But over them... red stiches. Alastor's stiches. Immiditaly guilt welled up inside of you. You forgot. You didn't even think about it. But the wording of the new contract was very particular.
"My sweet, my sunshine, I'm so sorry." You felt Alastor kiss your head and ears desperately, "I'm so sorry. It's going to be okay now. You will be okay. We will be okay."
You broke down yourself, your whole chest tight with the icy grip of remorse. You doubted Alastor. You knew he had edited your contract for this exact sort of situation, and yet your own memories got in the way of remembering it. You cried into his chest, your body convulsing from the waves of relief and guilt going through it.
"What the hell is this!?" Lillith rounded on you but Lucifer had regained his ability to move in the same moment Alastor got his soul back and stepped in front of the both of you holding his arms out.
There was a momentary stalemate where everyone stood still. Until you felt Alastor trying to get up, pausing his affectionate assault of you face. You helped him, still crying as he held you close, pulling your head into his chest.
"You may be right." You heard Alastor say, turning his head to face Lillith. "I may be a monster. An irredeemable sinner. But at least," he coughed covering his face with one palm before continuing, "At least when I love someone, I make damn sure that I cannot be used to hurt them."
"What?" You could practically hear the spit coming from Lillith.
"I edited her contract," He explained, still leaning on you heavily, "The moment I got it I made sure even if I was somehow forced to give up her soul, it would not harm her. The moment Y/n's soul left my possession, it broke our contract and returned to her."
"But wouldn't that leave your part of the deal with me unfulfilled?" Lillith questioned.
"Not quite." Alastor smirked, "Its not that I with held on my end of the bargain - the soul went towards you. I did 'hand it over'. It just never made it to you, but thats not my problem."
"You sleazy bastard!" Lillith tried to step around Lucifer towards you brandishing her whip, but Lucifer just took a step to he side to block her off.
"Lillith stop this! Please!" Lucifer begged again.
"I can't!"
"Why not!?" Lucifer stood his ground. Lillith couldn't argue she just stared into Lucifer's eyes.
*** Lucifer's POV ***
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was Lillith. My Lillith. But its like she was possessed, lacking the stoic grace I have come to know. Instead she was frantic, panicked, and angry. I only heard bits and pieces of what she was yelling at Charlie but what I did hear was cruel. Much too cruel for her to ever mean it, but she said those words anyway.
