*** Lucifer's POV ***
I rounded up the rear of the now almost doubled group of people returning to the hotel. Once I walked in I saw Stolas who was already perched on the arm rest of a two seater couch, looking a bit like a gargoyle guardian, wave his fingers to close it.
Lillith was hugging Charlie a little ways away, looks like they were making up after what happened. I still wanted to know what possesed her to say those cruel words to our daughter, and I was hoping to get the answers to that shortly.
Blitzø stood next to Stolas, leaning on him lightly with his legs and arms crossed, looking utterly bored. It appeared he was not unused to violence, and so where his two companions who were sitting on the floor together, the girl sitting on the guys lap giggling happily. Ozzie took up one of the larger armchairs, still having to take one of his smaller forms to fit. He was looking over the three couples in front of him fondly. Especially you and Alastor, he looked between you two with this wistful look that, unfortunately, I understood. You really did make one damn quite pair even after a major battle.
The stag demon was was holding chest with one hand, but the other was wrapped around your waist, holding you close by. His red and black hair was slightly out of place, but it framed his face that had a broken monocle on it in just a way to make him look endearing. Your only major injuries were the lashes on your back and ripped clothing, but you looked absolutely spent despite still clearly being on edge. Your black clothes complementing his red ones like two opposite parts of the same whole. Alastor's damned smile never faded, but he kept glancing suspiciously at Lillith like she was just about to explode or something.
I sat down in an arm chair next to Ozzie, who gave me an encouraging smile. "So uh, Lilly baby, I know were all tired, but I think all of us want to know what the hell happened."
That prompted Lillith and Charlie to sit down across from us together. The rest of the crew pulled up chairs or sat on the ground. I felt bad pushing her like this, but frankly, as much as I loved her she very much owed us all an explanation.
"I know." She responded looking down, then taking a deep breath before starting her story. "Over seven years ago, heaven sent a messanger to me specifically declaring that if I don't go up there and swear my allegiance they are going to do what they tried to do today - wipe out all of hell. They threatened to do the same if I told Luci or Charlie."
"Why the fuck couldn't you just pull the same stunt you did today?" It was Blitzø's gruff voice that interjected. The man had no decorum, apparently, talking to the queen of hell like that but I wasn't going to comment on it. Not with an entire group of demons I just witnessed massacre just as many angels as Lillith and I did between all of them, and that clearly had each others back, sitting around him.
But I did decide to answer his question. "Because the stunt we pulled today, is permanently close off hell from heaven. No more redemption. No more anything after hell, for anyone for any reason."
"Doesn't change much for us." The little girl imp shrugged. And yeah I guess she was right, hellborn souls just dissapeared when they died the same way when sinners were killed by angelic weapons, they were eternally damned just by being born here either way. Lillith continued her explanation despite the protests, her voice was calm, stoic even, but I could hear the notes of regret laced in the echo. Probably something only I would recognize, maybe you could too but I wasn't sure, if you did your expression didn't give it away.
"It was Lucifers, and then... Charlie's dream to make a way for sinners to be able to get a second chance and go up to heaven. That is no longer possible." She took another big breath, "Well, I ended up agreeing, going up to heaven. They told me I would not be able to go back down or contact anyone once I'm up. So I tried to make some preparations. I left funds for Charlie to start the hotel, and I wanted a powerful sinner I could use to somehow help her down the line. And... I came across one of the biggest menaces of the time almost dying from a fight with three other overlords." She cast a glance at Alastor, who was still watching her like a hawk. "The Radio Demon -"
