"Deon, I've heard from your Dad that you're planning to pursue civil engineering in college. I told you before to take business, not that course. What's wrong with you?"

I sighed heavily when I heard that from my mother. I know she wants me to pursue business as my degree in college, but I disobey her.

"I'm sorry, Mom, but I stand by what I think is best for me." I said it coldly.

"What?! Did you hear yourself, Deon?! You know that all I want for you is the best. Then, you're telling me now that your decision is better than mine?" she exclaimed angrily.

I let out a sigh. "Mom, all I want for you is to respect my decisions. Please..." I can't imagine myself pleading with my mother to support me in my decisions and not force me like this.

"No! I will talk to your Dad about this."

"Dad agreed."

"Well, me and your Dad were different, and my decisions matter the most."

"No..."

Napahawak siya ngayon sa sentido niya kasi kilala niya ako. Kung ano man ang desisyon ko ay doon ako. Lalo pa't pumayag si Daddy sa gusto ko, ni hindi ako pinilit katulad ni Mommy. Yes, maybe I'm selfish for disobeying my mother like this, but now that I'm old enough, I don't want her to control my decisions in life.

One day she came to me at sinabi niya sa akin na papayagan niya ako na e pursue ang kurso na gusto ko basta kunin ko rin ang business management.

Kahit minsan nakakainis na si Mommy. Na kokonsensiya parin ako kapag sinusuway siya. Basta ba hanggang d'yan lang siya. Hindi na siya lalagpas sa bonderies niya.

So when I graduated from Grade 12, I pursued both courses in college at the same time, which are civil engineering and business management.

"Deon, may ipakilala ako sa 'yo na chics, she's pretty and hot. I know magugustohan mo ito, I've heard that she's a law student. Bagay kayo nito kasi achiever raw din ito gaya mo."

Hindi naman sa mataas ang standard ko when it comes to girl na pwede kong masabi makasama ko habang buhay. Sadyang hindi ko palang siguro nakita ang babae na para sa akin.

In short, I'm the guy who dates to marry. Not who dates just for fun. It feels like I am wasting my time for nothing.

Gaya nga ng sabi ko hindi ako mag co-commit kapag hindi ko siya nakikita na makakasama habang buhay.

Kung gustohin ko man madali lang naman ako makahanap ng babae na pwedeng e girlfriend ko. Madaming lumalapit pero ako ang umiiwas lalo na kapag hindi ko nakitaan ng interes ang isang babae. It's better to avoid them rather than end up hurting them by giving mixed signals.

Kaya instead na ibigay ko ang atensyon sa mga babae. Mas ginugol ko ang oras sa pag aaral dahil gusto ko patunayan kay Mommy na kaya ko. Kaya kong matapos ang kurso na gusto ko kahit na isabay ko pa ang business.

At an early age, I started investing my own money in my Dad's company. I was the one who paid for my tuition fee, even though my parents insisted on paying for it. I can handle myself.
