Maybe This Will Not Last

Chapter 4

Luca's POV

The door opens not much later, so I look at the man who standing in front of me, before I frown at him.

I quickly realise that he's the man that I saw a few days ago, and I remember that he told me that he be doesn't know where Parker is.

But it seems that he was lying, because he's in Parker's apartment now.

"Why are you here?" He asks me.

"I want to talk to Parker." I say.

"We, you will have to get the Alpha's permission to do that, because I can't let you walk inside without that." He tells me.

"Denver said that I can talk with Parker now. I was meant to do it at the family night, but Denver said that Parker won't be going there, so he said that I can come here." I say, and it seems that he doesn't believe me.

The guards are a bit weird, because they don't know how to interact with the Alpha's family.

The pack laws say that they should help us whenever we need the help, and they should listen to us, if they don't have a command of the Alpha.

But they don't really know to what extent they should do that, which often leads to further problems, for both my family and the guards.

"Alright." He says, and he steps aside, letting me walk inside of Parker's apartment.

I look around, while I follow the guard to Parker's room.

He unlocks the door, and he walks inside, which gains Parker's attention.

"Hi." Parker says to me, ignoring the guards who was trying to tell him something.

"Well, I will give you some privacy, but I will be right outside, so I will hear everything anyway." The guard tells me.

"Thanks Jason." Parker says, and Jason just nods in acknowledgement, before he leaves the room, leaving the door open.

"I will be twenty in a few days, and I feel like I will finally find my mate." I say, before he can even ask me about the reason why I'm here.

"That's great." He tells me.

"No, it's not. I have a feeling that something bad will happen." I tell him, and he rolls his eyes.

"Everything will be fine. And I want to meet your mate, whoever it will be." Parker tells me, and before I can respond, I can hear a loud knock on the front door, so my eyes widen.

"I'm in trouble." I say, and I walk out of Parker's room, while he chuckles slightly.

Jason looks at me with a frown, before he locks Parker's room, and he goes towards the front door.

"Is Luca here?" Denver asks, so I sigh, and then I walk towards him, before I push past him to get out of the apartment.

"Yes. I already talked to Parker, so let's go back to Carter's house." I say, and he looks at me with an angry frown, although he decides to go with me.

Thankfully he doesn't shout at the poor guard that I lied to, because I wouldn't want him to get in trouble because of me.

I just hope that I will be able to make him let me talk to Parker again tomorrow.
