Maybe This Will Not Last

Chapter 49

Luca's POV

"I can't believe that we managed to babysit him for this long." Jason says when we get ready to take the kid back to his parents.

"And he's still alive." I say to which he nods.

We go towards the front door, but it opens before we can reach it, and my parents walk inside.

They smile when they see that we have a kid with us, and dad quickly comes over to greet us and the kid, while papa just nods in greeting.

"Are you going somewhere?" Dad asks me.

"Yes, we're going to Gabriel's house to give him back his son." I say.

"Well, I will take him, because I want you to go somewhere else, and it's not really on your way." He tells me, and I frown slightly.

Papa comes over, and he gives me one key, before he gives another one to Jason.

"Are you giving us a house?" I ask them, and they nod in agreement.

"Well, you will have a kid soon, so I guess that you will need it." Dad says.

"Thanks." I say happily, before I give dad the kid.

He quickly explains where we should go, so Jason and I decide to go there right away.

"Did you even listen when Eliott explained where we should go?" Jason asks me, and I shake my head.

"No, I was a bit too happy to do that, but I'm sure that you listened." I say, and he chuckles slightly.

We walk silently for a while, until we reach the house that's hopefully ours.

To be honest, I never visited half of my older cousins, so I won't be able to recognise their houses.

But from what Jason says, the location of this house matches the description that dad gave us, so I guess that it's ours.

Jason opens the front door, and the both of us walk inside of the house, before we make sure to walk around it to see everything that's here.

We stay here for a long moment, before we decide to go back, so we can pack.

Right after we walk inside of my parents' house, I can hear the alarm that rings when there's an attack in the pack lands.

Jason quickly leads me to the safe room, which is in the basement, and I let him do this.

"Will you stay with me?" I ask him hopefully, but he shakes his head.

"I'm one of the main warriors, so the pack needs me now, but I will be back as soon as I can." Jason gives me a kiss, before he closes the basement door, and I lock it from inside.

I can't stop worrying, but I know that he's very strong, and that he will be able to survive.

Not much later, I can hear that someone's in the house, and my eyes widen.

"Luca are you here?" Pascal asks me, and I quickly open the door to let him come inside of the safe room.

"What are you doing here?" I ask him.

"I was on my way here, and I was pretty far from my house, so I decided that it won't be smart to go back to my house." He explains.
