Maybe This Will Not Last

Chapter 6

Jason's POV

I look around the main room of the pack house, trying to find my sister, but I can't find her anywhere.

So, I walk out of the pack house, to see if she's waiting there, and I see that she's talking with some of her friends.

"Hi." She says happily when she sees me, so I greet here back, before she excuses herself from her friends.

"What do you want to do?" She asks me curiously, and I shrug, because I'm not really sure what I want to do with her.

To be honest, Ava and I never were close, at least not until our brother died.

The both of us were close with him, but after his death, we started to spend time together once in a while.

I'm not hanging out with her just for Caine, or something, and we didn't hate each other at all.

We just never got along well enough to want to hang out, and we still don't have many common things, so it's a bit weird when we hang out with each other.

"You're boring. Did you know that?" She asks me, and I roll my eyes.

"I think that I heard something like that a few times, from you." I say, and she chuckles, before she grabs my arm and she pulls me towards the woods.

"Are you going to kill me there?" I ask her, and she nods with a smile.

"Something like that." She tells me.

I decide to just follow here wherever she wants us to go, and it doesn't take long for her to stop at one of the clearing, so I look at her in confusion.

"What do you want to do here?" I ask her, because this definitely isn't where I thought that she will take me.

She isn't someone who could enjoy the silence, so while this clearing is where I would happily stay for the rest of the day, she definitely wouldn't want to do that.

"I want to shift to my wolf for, because I didn't do that for a long while. Is that alright with you?" She asks me, and I nod slightly, before I walk away from her, so the both of us can undress and shift.

When we're done, I walk back to her, and I gesture for her to start running wherever she wants.

We can use the mind link to talk to each other, but I'm happy that she can't remember that, because this means that we can stay quiet.

About half an hour later, we pass the former Alpha's house, and I can see that they're having a family night again.

But then I realise that it's not really a family night, it's one of the family members' birthday.

And I guess that it's the birthday of the Omega that I talked to not long ago, because the rest of the family keep walking towards him, most likely to tell him their wishes.

"You're will fall." Ava tells me, and I frown slightly, before I turn my head to look at the path that I'm running on.

There's a branch on my way, and I guess that if Ava didn't tell me about it, then I could have ended up on the ground.

But I manage to jump over it, and this makes Ava groan slightly.

"I thought that we stopped wanting to see each other hurt." I say, and she just groans again, before she keeps running.
