Jason's POV

I groan when I hear that the someone's knocking on the front door, but I stand up to open it anyway, because Luca is nowhere near ready to do that.

I'm still staying in Luca's house, but that's my last day here, and I will have to go back to Parker's apartment soon.

So Luca and I decided that we should go to the city, so we can spend the day together.

"We have to talk." Denver tells me, right after I open the front door.

"About what?" I ask him, while we walk towards the living room to sit.

"About the fact that you're supposed to go back to living with Parker." Denver tells me, and my eyes widen slightly.

"Was I supposed to be there today?" I ask, and Denver shakes his head, which makes me let out a loud breath.

"No, and I don't want to see you there tomorrow either." Denver tells me, and I frown slightly, not knowing what he wants to say by this.

"What do you mean?" I ask him curiously. "Do you want me to take a few more days off?" I ask, which makes him shake his head.

"No, I will need your help guard the pack lands, that's all that you will be doing from now on." Denver tells me.

I keep looking at him with a confused expression, so he decides to explain it a bit more.

"I don't want you to live with Parker anymore, I already found a replacement for you, so don't worry about it.

So, from now on, you will only guard the pack lands, as long as I won't need you to be a warrior." Denver explains, and I shake my head.

"I prefer to guard Parker." I tell him.

"Well, you have a mate now, so I can't allow you to do this, so just go to Parker's apartment, and take all of your stuff from there.

You can move them here or to your bedroom, which I will allow you to keep for now." He tells me, and he smiles at me apologetically, before he stands up, so he can walk out of the house.

I sit here for a short while, before I stand up, and I run out of the house, hoping to catch him, before he will reach the pack house.

Denver stops walking when he hears me, and he turns around to see me.

"You can't tell me what I should do. I want to keep guarding Parker, and that's what I will do." I tell him angrily, and he frowns at me, as is he doesn't get why I'm not happy about this.

"Why do you want to keep living with Parker?" He asks me. "You have a mate now, and you should be happy that I'm allowing you to live with him." He tells me.

"Well, I'm not ready to live with Luca, and I hate changes, so would prefer for the things to stay as they were, at least for a while longer. It will allow me to get used to everything." I say.

Not all of the things that I said are the truth, but if I want to make Denver change his decision, then I will have to lie a bit.
