Maybe This Will Not Last

Chapter 8

Luca's POV

The next morning, I walk towards the pack house, hoping that I will find my mate there.

And I smile slightly when I can smell his scent, right after I walk inside of the pack house.

I follow his scent towards the stairs, and then I walk towards the second floor, before I walk past a few doors.

I think that this side of the pack house only has the apartments, and I wonder why my mate already has an apartment.

I stop walking, and my eyes widen when I realise that the other wolf that was with him might not only be his friend, but she could be his girlfriend or something.

I really hope that this isn't the truth, because I doubt that I will be alright with that, and I don't want to argue with my mate already.

I take a deep breath, and I keep walking towards the apartment that has his scent.

When I reach the door, I frown, because I'm pretty sure that it's the same apartment that I was in a few days ago, when I was trying to find Parker.

The main reason that I'm thinking that is because I still can smell Parker's scent, although now it's very faint, which means that he wasn't outside of the apartment for a long while.

I knock on the door, and it opens a short moment later.

The person who opens the door isn't my mate, but not far behind him stands a guy, who I recognise from the he last time that I came here.

He looks at me with wide eyes, so I guess that he can tell that I'm his mate.

"Can I help you?" The guy who opens the door asks me.

"I have to talk with him." I say, and I point at Jason.

He turns his head to see who I'm pointing at, and then he nods slightly, before he let me walk inside.

This makes Jason panics a bit, but he quickly makes sure to hide his emotions, and he gives me a reluctant smile.

"Let's go to my room." He tells me, and he leads me back towards the front door, which makes the other guy groan, because he just managed to lock it.

"I will be back soon." Jason tells him, and the guy just nods, so we go out of the apartment, and towards Jason's room.

"Why didn't we know that we are mates before?" I ask him, hoping that he will have a good answer.

We're both old enough to know that we're mates, and we even met a few times before, but we just started to feel the mate bond since yesterday.

"I'm not sure." He tells me.

I just nod, and we stay quiet until we reach his room, which is on the other side of the pack house.

"Well, I'm not sure what to tell you now. I really didn't expect my mate to be an Omega, but I guess that it's not a big problem." Jason tells me, and I roll my eyes.

"Then why are you bringing it up?" I ask him, and he decides to not answer.
