i really really hope lila isn't addicted to vaping. she told me awhile ago about her self harm addiction but i never presumed she did any sort of drugs.

i start driving towards her cafe; i never forgot where it was. i decided to make a pit stop at taco bell and get a bean burrito before going to lila. i pulled up outside and i saw her already walking out.

"lila!" i waved to her out the window, redirecting her my way.

"perfect timing bil, i just got to clock out early."

"perfect, get in."

we can get her car later, but i need to talk to this girl right now.

"hey lila?"

"mhm?" lila says, frantically searching her purse.

"i- uh found a vape in your bag.."

she stops searching and looks at me.

"why were you searching my bag?"

"nono, it fell out when i tried moving it-"

"what about it?"

there's a huge tension in the car as i speed up.

"are you addicted?"

she laughs.

"addicted? no. i've seen addicted, and in no ways am i addicted."

"ok, i just wanted to make sure-"

"well you don't need to." she snaps.

i take a deep breath in. people who do drugs are like this. they'll get defensive when you ask or seem to accuse them of it.

"i know, i won't."

she scoffs and leans back in her seat.
