"I loved you long before I had the guts to let you know."

Jupiter's head was still spinning as she stumbled into the Gryffindor common room, dazed from the walk back from the tent. The place was a riot of cheers, laughter, and singing, almost deafening in volume. The common room was awash in decorations: towering piles of cakes and flagons of pumpkin juice and butterbeer covered every surface. Filibuster's Fireworks from Lee Jordan lit up the room, sparking and bursting into vibrant, starry explosions that made the air thick with shimmering lights. Dean Thomas had filled the walls with banners he'd drawn himself, most showing Harry on his Firebolt swooping past the Horntail, while a few hilariously depicted Cedric with his hair ablaze.

As Jupiter tried to weave her way through the throng, a warm weight crashed against her side, nearly sending her off-balance. She turned to see Naomi, swaying on her feet, an almost-empty bottle of firewhiskey clutched in her hand.

"Hey!" Naomi squealed, eyes wide and unfocused.

"Naomi!" Jupiter said, grabbing her shoulders to keep her steady.

"Have you seen Chris?" Naomi asked, her cheeks flushed.

"No, why?"

"I want to snog her!" Naomi blurted out, laughing in a way that made Jupiter's jaw drop.

"Maybe you should wait until you're sober?" Jupiter suggested, trying to pry the bottle from Naomi's hand. Naomi barely noticed, caught in a drunken fit of giggles.

"She won't want to when I'm sober!" Naomi whined. "She's weird about this stuff." Her voice was nearly drowned out by the music, but Jupiter could still see the frustration in her expression.

"Maybe she's with her sister?" Jupiter offered, but even Naomi seemed to know that didn't make sense.

"As if!" Naomi scoffed. "Chris hates Cora! Bloody hates her!" She looked around, then leaned in, lowering her voice like she was sharing a secret. "Speaking of Cora, you better watch your back, Black."

Jupiter frowned, trying to follow Naomi's rambling. "What?"

"Cora's coming for Potter! She's gonna ask him to the ball!"

Before Jupiter could respond, a loud cheer erupted from the center of the room. She glanced over just in time to see Fred and George hoisting Harry onto their shoulders, his face red but grinning wide.

"Knew you wouldn't die, Harry!" Fred called out, grinning as he lifted him higher.

"Lose a leg?" George chimed in.
