"This attitude came from pain. I wasn't always like this."

Their departure from the Burrow the following morning was far smoother than usual. The Ministry cars glided up to the front of the Burrow to find them waiting, trunks packed; Hermione's cat, Crookshanks, safely enclosed in his traveling basket; and Hedwig; Ron's owl, Pigwidgeon; and Ginny's new purple Pygmy Puff, Arnold, in cages.
"Aurevoir, 'Arry," Fleur said throatily, kissing him good-bye on both of his cheeks as Jupiter made full eye-contact with her wide-eyed boyfriend. Ron hurried forward, looking hopeful, but Ginny stuck out her foot and Ron fell, sprawling in the dust at Fleur's feet. Furious, red-faced, and dirt-spattered, he hurried into the car without saying goodbye.
"Be glad I don't do that to you," Jupiter said to Harry quietly as he held the car door open for her, looking incredibly pink-faced. Jupiter didn't mind Fleur in the slightest, but Merlin, did she hate Veela.
"Hey, I didn't ask for it," Harry said with a smile, rolling his eyes as he climbed in after her. The back seat had been enchanted again to appear far more spacious on the interior than on the outside, comfortably fitting all five of the children, as well as Mrs. Weasley while Mr. Weasley rode in the front with the silent Ministry driver.
"You two sure made up quickly," Hermione said, nudging Jupiter in the side as she glanced down and her and Harry's intertwined hands. Harry didn't respond, and simply looked out of the window. He was still very obviously not over the argument from before, but didn't hesitate to drop it at Jupiter's clear uncomfort about the subject.
Once they arrived at King's Cross station, they were greeted by two grim-faced, bearded Aurors in dark Muggle suits. They moved forward the moment the cars stopped and, flanking the party, marched them into the station without speaking. Jupiter subconsciously brushed a few large strands of hair in front of her left cheek and tugged her sleeves down to hide the unseemly sights that disparaged her skin.
"Quick, quick, through the barrier," said Mrs. Weasley, who seemed a little flustered by the Auror's austere efficiency. "Harry had better go first, with..."
She looked inquiringly at one of the Aurors, who nodded briefly, seized Harry's upper arm, and attempted to steer him toward the barrier between platforms nine and ten.
"I can walk, thanks," Harry said irritably, jerking his arm out of the Auror's grip. Jupiter hated to admit that she found his attitude towards the Auror regrettably attractive. Harry pushed his trolley directly at the solid barrier.
Jupiter, Hermione and the Weasleys joined him within seconds. Without waiting to consult his grim-faced Auror, Harry motioned to Jupiter, Ron and Hermione to follow him up the platform, looking for an empty compartment.
