"Keep the faith, it's all about the climb."

"I told you you'd end up killing somebody!" Jupiter exploded, running her hands through her hair in exasperation as she threw herself down onto the sofa in the common room after dinner. She had no concern for the several other Gryffindors in the room as she rounded on Harry. "And now—now I had to overhear it from some bloody first-years that you nearly butchered my cousin? Are you serious right now?!"

Harry, pale and visibly shaken, stammered, "I didn't actually kill him—"

"Oh, congratulations!" Jupiter shrieked, her voice dripping with venom. "You didn't actually kill him. That's a great comfort, Harry. I'm sure his parents will throw you a party for only almost murdering him!"

"Jupiter, calm down!" Ron tried, but she whirled on him so fast he flinched.

"Don't you dare, Ronald! Don't you dare tell me to calm down! My cousin—annoying, insufferable git that he is—was lying in a pool of his own blood because Harry decided to play dark wizard!"

Harry snapped, "I didn't decide anything! He tried to Crucio me, and I panicked!"

"And that justifies using a spell you knew was dangerous?!" Jupiter roared, her hands flying to her head as if trying to keep herself from exploding. "You knew that book was full of dark magic! I told you it was dangerous! Hermione told you it was dangerous! But no, Harry Potter always knows best, doesn't he? Except now someone almost died because of you!"

"He deserved it!" Ron interjected, his voice sharp. "If he used the Cruciatus Curse, he got what was coming—"

"SHUT UP, RON!" Jupiter shouted, her voice cracking. "This isn't about what Malfoy deserved! This is about Harry throwing around magic he doesn't understand! It's reckless, it's stupid, and it's going to get someone killed—if it hasn't already!"

Harry looked up at her, his green eyes blazing. "I said I panicked, okay? What was I supposed to do, let him torture me?"

"You were supposed to use your brain for once in your life!" Jupiter spat. "You've faced Death Eaters, dementors, Voldemort, but you still can't manage to think before you act? What if Snape hadn't been there? What if you'd actually killed him, Harry? What then? You'd be in Azkaban right now! Is that what you want?"

Harry glanced down at the floor, his jaw tight. "No," he muttered. "I wasn't thinking."

"Obviously!" Jupiter roared. "You promised me that you would stop doing this, but you keep taking risks, playing with things you don't understand, and expecting the rest of us to just clean up after you when it all goes to hell!"
