"Just because it's taking time does not mean it's not happening."

Snow was swirling against the icy windows once more; Christmas was approaching fast. Hagrid had already single-handedly delivered the usual twelve Christmas trees to the Great Hall; garlands of holly and tinsel had been twisted around the banisters of the stairs; everlasting candles glowed from inside the helmets of suits of armor and great bunches of mistletoe had been hung at intervals along the corridors.

Large groups of girls tended to converge underneath the mistletoe bunches every time Harry went past, even if Jupiter and Hermione were with him, which caused an intense spike in Jupiter's temper.

Jupiter stopped walking as they passed a particularly loud group of whispering girls, each of whom were staring at her boyfriend. "Listen, ladies, I know I'm really pretty, but I have a boyfriend," she smiled innocently to the extremely offended group as Harry tugged her hand and pulled her away from them, failing to suppress a grin. "Sorry!"

"You've got to just ignore them," Harry said with a laugh as he threw an arm over Jupiter's shoulder. "It'll die out eventually, right?"

"I wouldn't be too sure..." Hermione sighed, holding her books tightly to her chest. "I heard about a dozen girls, including Romilda Vane, talking about smuggling you one of Fred and George's love potions, which I am ashamed to say probably work..."

"I've already been love-potioned once, isn't that enough?" Harry groaned, his head falling back in anguish. "I don't get why this keeps happening!"

"Because you're extremely attractive and famous?" Jupiter scoffed, instinctively shooting a glare to a triad of girls, who were staring at the couple. "Just a guess, though."

"They're all hoping they're going to get you to take them to Slughorn's party, you know," Hermione said with an eye roll.

"Honestly, don't they understand that I already have a date?" He huffed, putting emphasis on the last few words as they passed a group of whispering fifth-years.

"You do?" Jupiter asked jokingly, looking up at him with a smile. "Who're you taking?"

"Millicent Bulstrode," Harry teased, tightening his grip around Jupiter's shoulder.

"Ah, of course," Jupiter replied, her voice dripping with mock seriousness as she nudged him with her elbow. "Poor Millie—she's been waiting all year for her chance. I'm glad you're finally giving her a shot."

Harry chuckled, leaning down so his forehead nearly touched hers. "I thought I'd mix it up this time, really keep everyone guessing."

"Very noble of you," Hermione deadpanned from beside them, though there was a faint smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
