The shock of losing Mad-Eye hung over the house in the days that followed; part of Jupiter expected to see him stumping in through the back door like the other Order members, who passed in and out to relay news.
"Well, you can't do anything about the" — Ron mouthed the word Horcruxes — "till you leave. And we can plan here as well as anywhere, can't we? Or," he dropped his voice to a whisper, "d'you reckon you already know where the You-Know-Whats are?"
"No," Harry admitted.
"I think Hermione's been doing a bit of research," Ron said. "She said she was saving it for when you got here."
"We've already got two, right?" Jupiter added, her chin resting on her hand. "Can't be that hard to find five more." They were sitting at the breakfast table; Mr. Weasley and Bill had just left for work. Mrs. Weasley had gone upstairs to wake Hermione and Ginny, while Fleur had drifted off to take a bath.
"You'd be surprised," Harry hummed, his arm strung across the back of her chair. "Now that the Trace is off, I was thinking that I might leave tonight..."
"Don't you mean 'we?'" Jupiter corrected, casting him a sharp look.
"Right," Harry muttered begrudgingly, still not sold on the idea of the three of them tagging along. "Then we can leave—"
"We can't leave yet," Ron said firmly. "We've got to stay for the wedding. They'll kill us if we miss it. It's one extra day."
Harry's nose scrunched up. "Don't they realize how important — ?"
"'Course they don't," Ron scoffed. "Mum hasn't got a clue. And now you mention it, I want to talk to you about that."
Ron glanced toward the door into the hall to check that Mrs. Weasley was not returning yet, then leaned in closer to Harry. "Mum's been trying to get it out of Hermione and me. What we're off to do. She'll try you two next, so brace yourselves. Dad's asked us as well, but when we said Dumbledore told you not to tell anyone except us, he dropped it. Not Mum, though. She's determined."
Ron's prediction came true within hours. Shortly before lunch, Mrs. Weasley detached Harry and Jupiter from the others by asking them to come take a few freshly-washed linens up to their room, which was once Percy's, now that Mrs. Weasley had accepted the conclusion that Percy would not be staying the night with them anymore.
Once she had them cornered in the tiny scullery off the kitchen, she started. "Ron and Hermione seem to think that the four of you are dropping out of Hogwarts," she began in a light, casual tone.
