As Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Jupiter descended the stone steps through the garden on their way to Care of Magical Creatures, Ron spoke up. "You don't think that Grim thing's got anything to do with Sirius Black, do you?"
Jupiter nudged him playfully. "Still worried about Sirius Black? Honestly, Ron, he's not going to be an issue for you. Now, for Harry and me, that might be a different story, but you're safe."
"You laugh now, but imagine how you'll feel after you find out he took me in my sleep," Ron muttered. Harry, Hermione, and Jupiter exchanged amused glances.
"Yeah, like that's ever going to happen, Ronald," Hermione scoffed, her dark hair bouncing as she strode ahead, leaving him trailing down the rocky steps.
"Just you wait," Ron called after her.
"That's it! Come on now! Come closer!" Hagrid's voice boomed from his hut, where he stood waving to a gathering of Gryffindors and Slytherins who were crowded in a half-circle in front of him.
"I've got a real treat for you today! A great lesson! Come on, follow me!" Hagrid grinned as he led them toward the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
"We have to go back in there?" Jupiter whispered to Harry, her gaze wary as it lingered on the dark trees. She hadn't ventured in since their first year, when Hagrid had led her, Harry, and Draco in for detention, and they had come face-to-face with Voldemort.
"Looks like it. Look at Ron," Harry murmured, stifling a grin as they glanced at Ron, who was as pale as a ghost.
"Spiders..." Ron whimpered, inching reluctantly toward the trees.
"What's he on about?" Jupiter asked as Hermione sighed, circling back to Ron's side.
"We never told you?" Harry chuckled as Hermione grabbed Ron's arm, pulling him along despite his protests.
"Told me what?"
"When you were, uh, off being loony—"
"Possessed."
"Whatever," Harry grinned. "Ron is deathly afraid of spiders, and we had to follow a trail of them into the forest at night. We ended up meeting Hagrid's giant spider, Aragog. We thought he opened the Chamber of Secrets, but he didn't because... well, you know." Harry's voice drifted off.
"Fantastic storytelling, Potter," Jupiter scoffed, rolling her eyes.
