Meet Saanvi and Manjiri. Saanvi is reckless, confident and doesn't really care about anything. Manjiri on the other hand is sweet, likes everyone around her to be happy and is always cheerful and kind.
Everything changes when Manjiri's dreams are i...
It was month of May and with it came the 'advantages'. The Sun was on full swing, the temperature reached 45 degree Celsius. Manjiri was walking unusually slowly. Everyday Saanvi and Manjiri walk together to the entrance of her colony and from there they part their ways, Saanvi towards the hostel areas and Manjiri towards the residential houses. It took her only 5 minutes and Manjiri would be at her house. But that day she was walking as if she was being dragged forcefully. She knew for one month she wouldn't be able to go anywhere. A lone tear escaped her eyes and she remembered about the handkerchief. She pulled it out and traced the letter 'M' on it. How thoughtful of Saanvi!
She entered her house and saw her 'bua' (paternal aunt, Manjiri's father's sister) and her grandmother talking about something. Well, she never had any hatred towards anybody but seeing both of talking them was not a good thing. She took a deep breath and went inside. She was surprised to see the way the house was decorated and all. She saw a lot of delicacies being prepared and wondered if there was some festival that day. Her mother turned around, facing her and said, "You're back, why are you late? Anyways, I don't have much time, go in the room backside and wear the clothes that I kept out for you and also put on the jewellery. Move your feet quickly, girl." Manjiri was baffled. What was going on?
As she went to the room, she saw a beautiful pink coloured silk saree. There were also some earrings, bangles and a simple necklace. She was tired after a long day at school and all she wanted was to lie down and never wake up again. Her body ached and became numb. She had slight fever. But she couldn't rest, not then. She quickly put her bag and files on the table and draped the saree and put on the jewellery.

She went downstairs and saw her mother making puri and aloo ki sabji. Oh! How she loved this. She was startled when her grandmother entered and spoke in her loud, stern voice, "Now that's how a woman should look. Don't disappoint the family coming to see you and also us. Be like a young, shy bride." Bride? Did she really say 'bride'? Manjiri was beyond shocked; her dreams, her ambitions were all crushed. She felt her eyes stinging. Oh! Where did she land herself?
