Manjiri was standing on the balcony. The chill night air hit her face. It was a blissful feeling and goosebumps raised over her hands. Back in the last year of her high-school, she used to think, "Could life get any worse?" But she saw Saanvi as the light of hope in her pitch black life. Just when she thought, "Is there anything left, she's already perfect," Saanvi did something which made her heart leap in joy.

At the fair....

Manjiri was waiting for Saanvi to say something. But her patience was fading and fearing the worst, she blurted out quickly, "Saanvi, Saanvi, I really, really, really love you a lot. Love as in, I could marry you this instant." She opened her eyes to see Saanvi wearing an amused look. She bit her tongue and muttered slowly, "I mean, I-I uh- I mean, just forget it yaar."

Saanvi chuckled. "Manju, Manju, my dear Manjiri, you're really something. You said something which I wanted to ask you. You beat me to it. This is not fair," Saanvi said in a cute dramatic way. Manjiri laughed and Saanvi too joined her.

Manjiri smiled remembering the incident. She held one of the plushies which Saanvi had won at 'hit the target and win a prize' stall. Suddenly, she felt something cold being gently applied on her face. She turned around to see a smiling Saanvi. Manjiri elated, she was on cloud nine when Saanvi said, "Manju, I'm really eager to spend the rest of my life with you, I want to love you, I - uh - I can't express myself. With all of this, uhm all of this here, I might be a little traditional, but I really want you to enjoy all of the rituals, without having to run away with me." Manjiri chuckled, her eyes welled up. She said, "I don't need to explain how much I love you, you know it already. But yes, I'm willing and very much eager to live with you forever."

Saanvi dipped her fingers in the turmeric paste and applied it on Manjiri's right cheek. Manjiri took her chance and sneakily applied a lot of turmeric on Saanvi's face. And soon, they were running after each other, trying to apply the turmeric paste and laughing out loud.

Manjiri recollected....

Saanvi held Manjiri's hand and dragged her towards the car. Manjiri was confused by Saanvi's behavior that day. Earlier, she didn't tell her anything and arranged a surprise visit to the fair. And then, despite Manjiri's hundred fifty six creative and cute attempts, Saanvi wasn't revealing their next destination. Manjiri herself didn't know when she fell asleep.

When she woke up, Manjiri found herself in the passenger seat while Saanvi stood near the door like the gentle person she was. When she got down and looked around, she saw a massive building with intricate architecture. When they entered, she was even more mesmerized. It was like heaven for Manjiri. They were in one of the most famous art galleries, with a variety of paintings, sketches and sculptures. When they reached a silent passage or hallway, Saanvi held Manjiri's hand and asked her to stop for a while.

Saanvi spoke in a sincere tone, "Manju, after a long time, I'm not relying on paper to express myself. I didn't believe in this weird stuff, love and all. But Manju, you've no idea what you've done to this soul. I want to experience it all with you, the love thing and all." She pulled out a delicate golden band. "Materialistic things are not equivalent to my love for you, but hope it'll be able to represent it partially. This also signifies my promise to you, I'll be there in every circumstance for you, I'll love to share my every moment with you. I'll always admire and love you. Ms. Manjiri, will you make me the luckiest person among the billions by marrying me?"

Manjiri chuckled as she remembered the proposal, and of course it was a 'yes' from her side.

A/N : Halidacha ranga lavuya sayano .... 🎶🎶

So, the haldi ceremony finished finally, though only Manjiri and Saanvi, that is, the brides and brides were present. And Manjiri doesn't have to worry about running away again 😅 because she's with someone who was destined to be hers only.
