After the day of the holiday, both Saanvi and Manjiri had to go back to their usual work routines. Saanvi hated it as usual but that day she just developed immense aversion for work days. Her days were usually bright and vibrant as she saw Manjiri smiling softly. But that day the tension from the previous day was persistent and both of them silently sat down to have their breakfast. Saanvi was glad that her maasi left early to catch the 'Shivneri' bus. She silently picked up her spoon when she saw Manjiri settled down on the other side with some upma on her plate. After she took a bite, Saanvi said, "Sorry..." She was interrupted by a sweet, melodious voice.

Manjiri smiled slightly when she realised that both she and Saanvi apologised simultaneously. She heard Saanvi clear her throat and she couldn't keep her facade of anger any longer as Saanvi began speaking in a slightly low pitched voice. Saanvi said, "Manjiri, I'm sorry. I ran away like a coward yesterday. It's just that I've trouble interacting with people. Heck, I didn't know I could share a living space and talk at length with someone, that is, until I met you, Manjiri."

They resumed their breakfast and the silence was persistent. That was until Manjiri lifted her glass of pineapple juice and placed it back with a sound. Saanvi continued, "Manju, there's a lot I wanna tell you, I'll tell it to you, bare my heart in front of you, but please, just give me some time, please." Manjiri nodded and took two spoonfuls of upma.

She paused as Saanvi began speaking again, "Manjiri, you know this and I've said it earlier, I value you, every aspect of yours is alluring. How could I ever be uncomfortable in your presence? Don't you dare to say anything like this again!" Manjiri mouthed a sorry and both of them resumed their breakfast.

Soon they were talking about the most random things and laughing at the silliest jokes. They recollected their high school moments, their funny classmates and the way they tried to bunk classes, particularly Healthcare classes on submission or test day.

That evening, a tired Manjiri arrived home first. Once she freshened up, she heard the doorbell ring. It was undoubtedly Saanvi. Manjiri rushed to greet Saanvi but was stopped at a distance by her. Saanvi muttered a "sorry" and sauntered over to the bathroom. Manjiri shook her head. Saanvi was very particular about hygiene, she would not touch anything in the house unless and until she'd washed up, and kept her laundry separate and washed it with warm water and liquid disinfectant.

When Saanvi came into the dining room, she was as bright as the rainbow after a fresh rain shower, thought Manjiri. How could someone look so enchanting even after a long day's exhaustion? She wanted to tell Saanvi something, but she didn't know how to. When Saanvi looked at her, she indicated to her to speak whatever was in her mind. So, she took a deep breath and hesitantly spoke, "Saanvi, I-I wanted to visit my family." She saw Saanvi place down her bite and staring at her, asked her to continue. "I miss them, I haven't seen them for so long, please, can I go?" Manjiri asked while her black bambi eyes shone brightly.

Saanvi smiled at Manjiri and said that if she wanted to she could go to Jalna but only on one condition. She had put forth that she'd also accompany Manjiri. After a number of debates, it was finally decided that Saanvi would accompany Manjiri. Though Manjiri protested against this plan as she felt guilty for troubling Saanvi, Saanvi being Saanvi, went along with her, for she just couldn't let her go out of her sight.

It was the weekend and as decided both Manjiri and Saanvi were set on a long journey to Jalna. Saanvi was driving the big SUV and Manjiri was laughing at her attempt of singing, "Main Ka karoon Ram mujhe budha mil gaya...." Both of them were enjoying the peaceful moment while being blissfully unaware of the thundering news coming ahead.
