The sun rose, a bright and warm day came. From the small window of the attic room a garden could be seen. There amidst the jungle of weeds and thorny bushes, bloomed a pink rose. Saanvi observed the sunrise and the gardens, and smiled a little as she pictured her Manjiri, planting the rose plant and watering it regularly six years ago. Then she went back to the bed as she saw Manjiri stirring a little. Saanvi was overwhelmed, her heart yearned for Manjiri, but, but, Manjiri, she may not even think about it....., all in all it was very complicated.

After they got ready, both Saanvi and Manjiri headed downstairs. Manjiri did not have any appetite. She felt uncomfortable when she had to sit near her noisy cousin and Saanvi had to sit on the opposite side of the dinner table. She was focused on kande pohe and tea, when her father said, "Tomorrow is the sakharpuda, get her ready." She was shocked and moved her eyes all over the table, who's getting married, she thought. When she realised it was herself, tears were brimming up in her eyes. She wanted to scream right then and there. Her mind was baffled, troubled, scared and overwhelmed, she definitely was not thinking clearly and she wanted to smack Saanvi on her head. Why couldn't she see that she loved her? How would she see that if you haven't told her yet, thought Manjiri, mentally slapping herself. What would Saanvi do even if she would have told her? Afterall, how could something like this work? Manjiri doubted herself over and over again, what did she even have or do deserve someone as caring as Saanvi, she kept on thinking.

Twenty-four hours had already passed and Manjiri felt like the time passed in a blink of an eye. She was standing on the podium next to the IIT-ian guy. This was the second time she was getting engaged and she somehow just hated being there, she felt nothing but disgusted, she knew this wasn't meant for her at all. Manjiri was surprised that she was able to plaster a perfect fake smile despite the pain in her heart and the turmoil of thoughts in her mind.

Saanvi saw Manjiri on the podium. She took a deep breath, maybe they were meant to intersect at one point and diverge, maybe their paths were never meant to be coincident. Manjiri looked ethereal in the blue saree. She headed towards the food section and served the guests which were crowding up in the eating hall after the ceremony.

A/N : So, now Manjiri is marrying once again. What do you think will be Saanvi's and Manjiri's relationship now?

sakharpuda - In Maharashtra, India, the engagement ceremony involving many rituals is called sakharpuda. In this ceremony, gifts are presented to both the bride and the groom, uncles of both the bride and the groom crack the supari (betel nut)

In most weddings and other family functions, the members of the family and close friends, greet each other and help in serving. Earlier, even the groom and bride themselves served the close family and guests.
