Soon enough, Sebastian and Ciel, on _______'s request, and instructions- find a hidden pathway. That leads from the werewolf village to the burned-down clocktower of Houndsworth. Wherein they find Alma's corpse, the gun that went missing from Gustav's; Louise's father shed, and carvings of days on the walls that would be about 550 days or so. All of which being things ________ deduced to be there. Even the fact that once they were out, they'd be covered in moth scales and such. After returning to Houndsworth, it seems Louise's body had been found finally. To which, begs the question that ______ instructed Ciel to ask the grieving parents;
"How was Louise treated prior to her discovery of the werewolves? How did you treat her when she was 4 years of age?"
"This is our punishment..! It must be..!!!"
"Deborah!"
Gustav rushes to his wife, as she cries out. Speaking of a punishment for attempting to do something only a 'bad dog' would do. Holding onto her husband and crying out Louise's name... Gustav's eyes flicker with a mix of anger and sorrow as he looks at Ciel. "Louise... We loved her dearly. She was a kind and gentle child, full of curiosity and innocence. But...after she turned four, something changed in her. She became distant, and withdrawn. She started talking about things no child should know. We feared that something was wrong, that she was sick."
Ciel nods, his voice filled with empathy. "I understand your concerns, Gustav. But what we have discovered suggests that there is more to Louise's story than meets the eye. Anything else?"
Gustav's breath catches in his throat, his voice trembling. "We.."
Deborah stops her husband, speaking in a hushed yet regretful tone, "A child that sick, we thought... We- Years ago, the day before the Hound Night festival we took advantage of the festivities. And tried to leave her in the northern forest-"
"Deborah please!"
"We took her out of her wheelchair and left her there. We thought it would make our lives easier! But in the evening she returned with Jutte- The werewolf cub..!"
Gustav cries out after, saying they tried to save her after that. Deborah refuting that they abandoned their daughter first. Saying that Louise pretended not to notice, but that she had already understood their intentions back then. Just as ______ deciphered, that was also the night Louise exposed the werewolves. The parents walking off to give their daughter a proper burial... But it doesn't make sense to Ciel- Jutte saved Louise and yet Louise exposed the other's secret as a werewolf?
"From what I recall, _______ had said Louise must have been quite a smart girl. And sure enough, she worked to survive despite her disabilities- In order to survive, she had to prove she was useful to all of the villagers..." Sebastian mutters, thinking of just how smart ________ truly is for getting that far in her deciphering of the case. Ciel's eyes narrow as he pieces together the puzzle, ______'s deduction proves to be accurate once again, shedding light on Louise's motivations and actions, the pieces finally falling into place. The revelation of Louise's abandonment and subsequent return with Jutte, the werewolf cub, sheds new light on her actions and motivations.
"It seems that Louise's exposure of the werewolves' secret was not an act of betrayal, but rather a desperate attempt to prove her worth and survival," Ciel muses, his voice laced with a mix of understanding and sympathy. "She must have realized that her own parents had abandoned her, and in order to survive and gain acceptance, she used the knowledge she gained during her time in the forest."
Sebastian's gaze flickers with a mix of admiration and intrigue as he listens to the deduction. "Indeed, Young Master. It appears that Louise's intelligence and resourcefulness allowed her to adapt to her circumstances and find a way to secure her place among the werewolves. She used her newfound knowledge as leverage, proving that she had value to offer." Sebastian voices a thought that lingers in both of their minds. "But what about the other werewolf killings and the attempts to frame _____? Could these be the actions of a separate group within the village, one seeking to exploit the already tense situation by blaming humans?"
Ciel nods, his mind racing with possibilities. "It is a convincing theory, Sebastian. We must investigate further, uncovering the truth behind the other werewolf murders. Only then can we bring justice to the innocent and put an end to this cycle of violence and mistrust."
With renewed determination, Ciel and Sebastian set out on their investigation, relying on their wit, cunning, and the new leads they have gathered. The depths of the werewolf village hold more secrets, and they are determined to bring them to light. The stakes are high, but Ciel's resolve remains unwavering—an unwelcome punishment awaits those responsible for the murder, manipulation, and deception that has plagued Houndsworth.
Here it was, the final piece to this puzzle. The two go back down into the cave leading to the werewolves' village- Wolphinhel, getting ______ out of the prison and having the other servants joining them this time to fight off the werewolves that seek to keep them away. Unfortunately, they got followed by the villagers. The people of Houndsworth all ganging together to fight the werewolves off as well for all the losses. But before everything could end in total blood splatter, _____, Ciel, and Sebastian all come up to the execution post where the werewolves and people of Houndsworth were facing off.
"That's enough for now. We've sorted through the little puzzle you gave us, why not reveal yourself?" _____ asks, looking up at the tower standing in the middle of the werewolf town. Where a golden werewolf stands.
"Allow me to introduce, Louise of Houndsworth, Nora of Wolphinhel, and... Jutte. The true culprit of all the crimes thus far..." The werewolf turns back to human, and just as _____ said- it is no other than
Jutte...
