Chapter 4 Part 5: You Can Live With Us.

Cassidy:

Perri rolls over sleepily, wrapping his arm around me. I smile and turn around to face him. His hair tickles my cheek.

"Morning beautiful." He says with his eyes closed.

"You haven't even opened your eyes Pel!" I laugh.

"Don't have to!" He says opening his eyes and smiling.

I kiss him quickly before getting out of bed. The sun beams though the windows making me feel all happy inside. I sync my phone to our speaker and put my phone on shuffle. The song 'Ride' by SoMo starts to play. I start dancing around the room.

"Weirdo!" Perri says shaking his head.

I stop and cross my arms.

"I know 100% that you want to get up and dance with me!" I say.

"No, I don't!" Pel says smiling.

I run over and pull him out of bed, I continue dancing as Pel joins in.

"See!" I say as we collapse on the bed. "I knew you wanted to dance!"

He rolls over and kisses me. The kiss becomes more passionate, we end up having a make out session. I push him off.

"Right c'mon!" I say patting his leg. " Let's get ready."

"Wow." Pel says getting up. "I'm going to check on Ava." He says hugging me.

I head over to my wardrobe and pull out my burgundy skirt, white crop top and a light blue denim shirt. I then grab my tan Timberland's pushing my feet into them. I sit down at the dressing table singing along to 'Freak of the Week'. I start to do my everyday makeup.

"See, she is the freak of the week..." Pel sings walking into the room.

I burst out laughing messing up my eyeliner.

"What?" Pel says pulling on his jeans.

"Nothing." I smile.

When I'm ready I head into Ava's room. I bath her then get her changed into a little flowery blue dress and white sandals.

"Cutey!" I say as I put her down on the floor. "Pel, you nearly ready?" I call as I pick up all the things I need.

"Yeah!" He calls back walking out of our room.

He pick up Ava and we head to the car. We get in and head over to my parents house.

"Do you think she will let us take Alex out?" I ask as we pull up.

"I hope so." Pel sighs.

I get out and head up the driveway. I knock on the door and wait for an answer. Alex answers.

"What are you doing here?" She asks looking behind her.

"I've come to take you for a day out." I say smiling.

"Mum won't let me." She sighs.

"She will, you go get in the car and talk to Perri and I will speak to mum." I say nodding towards the car.

"Perri!" She says, her face breaking into a huge smile. "And Ava?"

"Yeah, go on!" I say.

She runs to the car and jumps in. I turn back towards the open door.

"Mum?" I call into the house.

"Cassidy?" My mum says coming to the door. "What do you want?"

"I'm taking Alex out to the park, I miss her. Okay? We will drop her off at 8pm."

I walk towards the car, waiting for her response. Nothing. The door slams and that's it.

"Right, lets go to the park!" I say getting into the car.

When we arrive at the park we head over to the play area. We spend a few hours in there, playing on the different things with both Alex and Ava. When it gets to lunchtime we buy fish and chips and sit under a big tree.

Perri noticed at least 6 bruises on Alex's legs and I've noticed one on her shoulder.

"Alex?" I ask trying to think of what to say. "Them bruises aren't from school are they.?"

Alex just looks at her chips.

"Look, Alex you can talk to us." Pel says passing Ava a chip.

"I can't say..." Alex shakes her head.

"Of course you can!" I say. " Please Alex tell us." I smile slightly.

"They will hurt me more..." She says.

"Who?" Pel says snapping his head to face her.

She just shakes her head.

"Alex. Please." I say.

"You won't tell them that I told you?" She asks looking scared.

"Of course not!" Me and Pel say together.

"Okay." She says looking up. "Ever since you've left mum and dad have never been the same. They always argue. And I'm the only one. Dan's moved out. I hide in my room because they scare me..." She trails off.

"Carry on." I usher.

"They don't like it when I'm in the room. If I try to say anything they... They take it out on me. Hitting and pushing. So I hide in my wardrobe."

"What!?" I almost choke on my chip.

"Are you serious?" Pel says looking shocked.

"They scare me..." Alex says. "Don't tell them I've told you!" Her eyes wide with fear.

"We won't." I say.

"You can live with us..." Perri says smiling at her.
