Chapter 5 Part 1: Watch Us.

Cassidy:

"What?" I say shocked.

"Yeah, you can't stay there!" Perri says to Alex.

"Really?" Alex asks unsure.

"Maybe. You could stay for a couple of days." I say trying to work out how I'm going to tell my mum.

"I can't." Alex says shaking her head.

"Why not?" Perri asks watching Ava as she crawls over to Alex.

"When I go home they will hurt me more..."

"We won't let that happen!" I say smiling at her.

"What are you going to say to Mummy and Daddy?" She asks quietly.

"I don't know, me and Pel will sort that out."

Perri:

I call my mum to see if that she can look after Ava and Alex for a couple of hours while me and Cass go to talk to her parents.

We go to town and buy Alex some new clothes then head over to my mums.

"Hey mum!" I say hugging her as we all head inside. "This is Cass's little sister Alex."

"Hello sweetie!" She says smiling down at her.

"Hi." Alex says shyly.

"Okay, so we are going to talk to Cass's parents about something to do with Alex."

"Oh right okay, what?" My mum asks.

Cassidy takes Ava and Alex into the front room so that I can tell my mum.

"Look at the bruises on her body. Their from her mum and dad. I told her that she can live with us for abit. We are going to talk to them about it now." I whisper.

"Oh my gosh. Okay. Just text me when you are on the way back. You should call the police on them!"

"I know, I'm going to have to talk to Cassidy about if we will call the police because they are her parents."

"True. See you later."

"Bye. Text me if anything goes wrong." I say as me and Cassidy head out the door.

We get in the car and start to drive away.

"I'm nervous." Cassidy says after awhile.

"I know, Cassidy what they've done could put them in prison."

"Pel, I understand." She says. " Where is Alex going to sleep? We don't have the room."

"We will sort this out okay." I say as we turn down their road. "I couldn't bear to have her stay with them. She's part of you and I could never imagine letting that happening to you." I say as we pull up across their drive.

"I love you." She says as she kisses me.

"I love you too." I say placing a piece of her hair behind her ear.

We get out the car and head towards the front door.

I lean forward and knock.

Cassidy:

My dad opens the door.

"Where's Alex." He says bluntly.

"At my mum's." Pel says back.

"We need to talk to you and mum." I say strongly.

He moves aside to let us in. Me and Pel head into the living room. It's the first time I've been in here since Ava was born.

"Has Perri's mum got her again?" My mum says not even looking up from the tv.

"Her has a name." Pel says sharply.

"What have you two been doing to Alex?" I say getting to the point.

"What are you on about?" My dad says going and sitting down next to my mum.

"The bruises." Perri says making it obvious.

"She got them from falling over at school." My mum says looking at us.

"No she didn't. And you know she didn't. You two have put them on her." I say.

They both look at me, silent.

"Alex will be staying with us for a few days, because I will not have her staying here getting beaten by her parents." Perri says firmly.

"What gives you the right to do that?" My mum shouts.

"What gives you the right to beat an 8 year old?" Pel shouts back.

"Maybe you could take her?" My dad says.

"Harry! No! If they have her then they will tell the police what we've done." My mum says without realizing. "Crap." She says rubbing her head.

"Well done Cindy!" My dad says knocking over a glass.

"You people are mental." I say shaking my head.

"Expect a call from the police." Perri says as we leave the room heading towards the front door.

"You can't!" My mum spits.

"Watch us." I say slamming the door behind us.

Me and Pel hug each other in silence.
