A/N: yall know who's in this one😋
YOUR POV:
Jin and Hayato had stopped abruptly at a part of the forest that had giant trees.
"It's huge!"
"That's what she said..."
"Shut up!"
"Wow, look at that!"
"The base is just further in," Jin says to us.
"I'll go on ahead and tell the boss you're here!" Hayato smiles, "Jin and Zazie, make sure you lead them there safely!" Hayato then turns and runs off quickly, so fast that I didn't even see him run off.
Needless to say, we were all in shock.
But finally, we arrived at their base and it was huge. It was like something straight out of a fairytale, like I had been reading a fantasy book before going to sleep and now I'm dreaming of it. There were many buildings and staircases. It was all warm and cozy.
"What is this?!" Lannion and Thoma gasp.
"Our base," Jin stated.
"Yeah, we got that," Gillian nods.
I link arms with Ray as he looks at me, "isn't this cool Ray? It's like a town!"
I couldn't help but smile at my surroundings. This felt like I was at home, a feeling I hadn't known in a while.
"You don't get any bad feelings?" Ray asks me.
I shake my head as Jin speaks up, "I'm not sure of the details. But this place is the remains of an old demon colony. The demons in town don't know of this place, that's why they don't come here."
A tall dark skinned man walks over, and I noticed that he had stitches on his head. I couldn't help but frown as Jin ushers for the injured to be dropped off with them.
We follow Jin further into the base as we spot many children, they were all smiling happily. They all seemed so carefree. No worries.
A group of children made us come to a halt as they smiled and greeted us.
"Welcome!"
"Woaah! It's the escapees!"
"Welcome, welcome!"
"Here, have some tea and cookies!"
I let go of Ray and grab a tea cup from one of the kids. It was warm against my fingers as I smiled and looked at Ray, "do you want to try it?"
"I'm okay. It might be poisonous," he warns.
I roll my eyes, "I doubt it. I mean look at Gillian," I say pointing to the blonde girl who was wiping her mouth. "She just drank it and she's fine."
"She's also the same girl who ate poisonous mushrooms and got high once," Ray says matter-of-factly.
I stick my tongue out at him and drink the tea. It was warm and sweet, though still bitter. I hum in satisfaction and look at Ray, "you should try it. It's really yummy."
"No."
I pout, "why are you so mean right now?"
"I'm not. I just don't want an—."
"Is it because this place is too good to be true?"
He doesn't reply.
I smirked, "knew it. Well, this place is to good to be true. Besides, these are Minerva's children. I don't think we have to worry about getting poisoned or whatever."
"Hey Emma!" Hayato hollers as he walks over to us, "the boss wants to meet with you!"
Emma glances at Oliver who gives a curt nod. Emma then follows Hayato.
"Aw, I wanna meet Minerva too," I frown as one of the Minerva kids takes my cup. "Hey Ray, can we go too?"
"Minerva wants to meet with Emma alone. We shouldn't—."
"Hey guys!" I holler as everyone looks at me, "who wants to go meet Minerva too?!"
"I do!"
"Me!"
"Me too!"
"Let's go!"
I smile and look at Ray, "you don't have to tag along Ray." I begin to walk off in the direction that Emma and Hayato went in with everyone following.
As we're walking, I feel a presence beside me. I glance to see Ray, "I'm glad you decided to join."
"I had to," he says crossing his arms, "otherwise you'd probably jump Minerva."
"Why would I jump him?!"
We approached the door as I hear Emma's voice along with another one inside.
"And you..."
"Oh, my ear?" Emma laughs, "I left it at home. But I was able to escape! A-And I brought Ray too!"
I opened the door, "and this is my family!"
I stared at the man who was before us, or I suppose the boy who was standing before us...that familiar snow white hair and pale skin, those crystal blue eyes, that familiar string of numbers on his neck.
He smiles, "wow..! That's a big family..!"
There he stood, the star—Norman.
"Wh-What's going on..?" Don gasps.
"Mr. Minerva..?" Lannion trails off.
"It's the kid from Emma's picture," Violet points out.
"But I thought he died," Gillian gasps.
"Y-You're alive..?!" Nat gasps, "are you real?"
"Norman!" The younger kids screamed as they rushed toward him for a hug, to which the boy knelt down and hugged them back.
Norman was considerably taller than our last time together, if it wasn't for the numbers on his neck, I'd probably think he was a look alike.
"I'm glad to see you alive Y/N," Norman says breaking me from my thoughts. "I was scared you would get yourself killed!" He laughs.
I took a step forward, "what the hell man?!" I yell, "how did you survive?! Why are you alive?!" I couldn't help the tears that fell down my cheeks. I was feeling so many different emotions. "Do you know how hard it was to keep these two alive?!"
Norman laughs, "thank you for helping them."
Ray walks over silently and slaps Norman harshly. Norman places a hand on his red cheek, "that was mean. I know I probably deserved it, but what kind of hello is that?" Norman removes his hand with a smirk, "but you saw something cool...didn't you?"
Ray begins to tear up and before I know it, he's crying, "yeah." He brings the three of us into a hug, "thanks to you...I'm alive." He cries, "don't ever do something like that again!"
"I won't Ray."
It was at times like these I forgot that we were all just children. Children who were thrust into a demonic and harsh world, forced to grow up too soon and act older than what we were. We were forced to play house with each other, but we were always playing house weren't we?
