It's Lara and Evan's wedding day and there's a murmur throughout the city, everyone feeling the happiness from the couple that is about to tie their lives together in a moment that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
Lara is standing in her old room, feeling nervous, Jennifer and Teyla helping her put the final touches on her dress before it's time for her to make her way to the balcony where her relationship with Evan started.
She thinks back to when she first met Evan and smiles softly. Never, not in a million years, would she ever thought that she would be marrying the man that was laying on the Gate Room floor, bleeding out, after a rough mission.
Lara knows that the road they are now on hasn't always been an easy one, but it all lead to this moment. It lead to her getting ready to marry her best friend and the man she loves with all her heart and she wouldn't change any of it if it means she gets to marry Evan.
A touch on her shoulder brings her out of her thoughts. She looks over and sees Jennifer telling her that it's time, a smile as big as her own on her face. Lara will always be grateful for the family she has found in Atlantis and for the man that is waiting for her.
Lara nods and leaves the room, Jennifer and Teyla following close behind. As she walks through the corridors, she is stopped here and there by people passing by, congratulating her and Evan on their wedding, Lara thanking and smiling at all of them.
She walks into a transporter with Jennifer and Teyla, touching the tower on the map where the balcony is and smiles, knowing that in just a few minutes, she will be marrying the love of her life.

Evan stands near the railing of the balcony, Sheppard and Ronon with him, the Satedan having agreed to be his groomsman, as they wait for Lara to arrive. He still can hardly believe that this is happening.
He looks around the room and smiles. Lara had made the balcony look beautiful with flowers from the mainland and candles that she borrowed from Teyla and the Athosians. He sees the handful of people scattered around the room, people that they both agreed were indispensable to have there. Sure, he still wishes his sister and her family were there, but this is his family too.
Elizabeth is officiating the wedding, something that had surprised Evan, but had made him happy that she would be willing to do so; Sheppard, Jennifer, Ronon and Teyla will be standing next to him and Lara at the altar; Jack is outside, on the corridor, waiting for Lara, with Daniel, who will let them know when she arrives before taking his place in one of the chairs across from the altar, next to Samantha, Teal'c, McKay and Beckett.
Evan smiles as he sees the people they chose to be there to witness this moment and he knows that there's only one person that really matters right now to him, and he can't wait to see her.
Daniel enters the balcony and signals Elizabeth, the woman asking everyone to take their places, herself taking hers at the little altar Lara had created with flowers and candles, with the help from Teyla, Jennifer and Elizabeth.
Evan stands next to Elizabeth, taking a deep breath, feeling a good kind of nervousness rushing through his body. He looks down at his hands, trying to remain calm, feeling Sheppard pat his shoulder in support, and smiles, knowing this is it. This is the moment he has been waiting for.
He has no doubts this is what he wants, that Lara is the woman for him and he will spend the rest of his life making sure she knows just how much he loves her.
The doors open and Evan looks up, seeing Lara walking side by side with Jack, the wind getting knocked out of him when he sees just how beautiful she looks and how big her smile is when she sees him, tears in her eyes, and tears appearing in his own.
Lara walks in his direction, stopping just a feet away from him, Jack placing her hand in his.
-"Take care of her."
-"Always."
Evan nods at Jack, before kissing Lara's hand and both turning to Elizabeth, who smiles at them.
-"Welcome everyone. We're gathered here today to witness a day long time coming. Lara and Evan have been on a long road that has finally led them here, and this is just the first step to an even, hopefully, longer one. The couple has chosen to write their own vows. Lara?"
Lara nods at Elizabeth and looks back at Evan.
-"Evan, I'll never forget how this crazy story of ours started. Coming back to Atlantis after being away for almost two months at the Alpha site, I never thought that when you stopped me just outside my quarters and asked me out to lunch as a thank you for saving your life, I would end up standing in front of you excited to become your wife."
"We had our fair share of heartbreak during our relationship, but when I was at my lowest, you were there to lift me up and make sure that I knew just how much you loved me and had my back, no matter what. I need you to know that I'll always be here for you, through it all, and that I will always have your back, come hell or high water. I love you, Evan Lorne, and there's nothing in this world that's going to change that." - She smiles at him, feeling him squeeze her hand.
-"Lara, after I was shot and came to, my first priority was to find the pretty doctor that had saved my ass. It took a while before we would meet and by the time we finished our lunch together, I knew you were someone I wanted to get to know more about and have as a friend."
"What I didn't know was how that friendship would quickly turn into something more, and I thank my lucky stars every night that it did, because now I can't imagine my life without you in it. We've been through hell and back to get where we are now and I promise you I will always walk through hell to get to you. You're the one I love more than anything or anyone in my life, and that will never change. I love you, Lara O'Neill, and I'll always find you." - He smiles back at her, his heart bursting with happiness.
They quickly exchange rings, while Elizabeth pronounces them husband and wife, congratulating them. Evan can't wait anymore, he pulls her close and kisses her deeply, feeling her kiss him back, as everyone around them erupts in applause.
When they break apart, they are surrounded by those they love, congratulating them and wishing them happiness and longevity, before hugging them, with smiles all around.
Hours later, as Evan and Lara make their way back to their room, they are stopped once again, here and there, by members of the expedition who wish to congratulate them. But once they get to their room, they spend the rest of the night in each other's arms, basking in the happiness that always feels so fleeting in Atlantis.
