No Coincidences

It started off with simple things: a flat tire when he is running late to pick Ava up from preschool, a mixed up shift at the SGC, a mixing up of the days when picking Ava up from Lara's house for a weekend. Evan knows that, in their line of work, there is no such thing as a coincidence, but he still didn't think too much of it. Looking back, maybe he should've had.

Evan is sitting in Jack's office, feeling like a kid who was just sent to the principal's office.

-"Do you wanna tell me why you hit an Airman and landed him in the infirmary?"

-"What? I didn't hit anyone. Check the cameras."

-"I have and they clearly show you hitting the Airman. And if that wasn't enough, the Airman has identified you by name."

-"That's impossible. When did this happen?"

-"Early this morning."

-"I wasn't in the Mountain this morning."

-"Where were you then?"

-"I was at Ava's school for a father's day activity with about ten other parents and at least two teachers. You approved of me taking the morning off for it."

-"Then how the hell were you in two places at the same time?" - Jack remembers signing the paperwork giving Evan the morning off.

-"I don't know, but I will bet anything that the footage was messed with."

-"I'm starting to think the same thing." - Jack picks up his phone and calls Sam. -"Sam? I need a favor. Check the footage of Evan hitting the Airman and see if it was tampered with. Let me know as soon as you find something. Thanks." - He ends the call and looks back at Evan. -"Do you have any idea why anyone would try to frame you for this?"

-"No clue, but you need to talk to that Airman and figure out why he would accuse me of hitting him when I wasn't even in the Mountain."

-"That's exactly what I was thinking. Come on."

Jack leaves his office, Evan following him all the way to the infirmary. But when they get there, the Airman has disappeared, no one knowing where he had gone to. Jack looks back at Evan, now pissed.

-"What the hell is going on?"
