He can hear the taskmasters running down the long tunnels, shouting at each other, urgency in their voices. He knows something's happening but he can't make out what they're saying, the voices too far away for him to make out the words.
He looks to his side, to the old man working next to him, and asks if he knows what's going on. The old man shrugs and tells him they better keep working, when an explosion is heard in the distance, shaking the tunnel and making everyone stop and look at each other.
He ducks as a few rocks fall from the ceiling, barely missing him. When he looks back up, he sees a flash of light at the end of the tunnel he is in, the people who were there disappearing into thin air.
He hears more explosions and running footsteps coming in his direction from where he saw the blinding light. He watches as a familiar face stops in front of him, confusion across their face, right before that blinding light reappears.
