Lara comes into the kitchen and finds Evan leaning against the counter, his hands in his pockets and his head low. He looks up when he hears her come in, a sadness in his eyes that Lara hasn't seen in years.

She leans against the opposite counter.

-"You said you wanted to talk. What about?" - She sees him take a deep breath.

-"I was wrong."

-"About?" - Lara is sincerely confused.

-"About us being better off apart. I know you didn't mean what you said when Ava went missing. I know that you were just scared and I was an easy target. And as much as I hate to admit it, deep down I believed you were right, that it was my fault. That was why I decided to leave. Because I believed that it really was my fault."

"But this last week gave me some perspective. I realized that it wasn't my fault, it was just bad timing or whatever you wanna call it. Me being back posed a threat to Henry's plan and he did the only thing he could to get me out of the picture without killing me. He knew that if he killed me it would raise suspicions, especially with Jack."

-"How do you know that?"

-"I went to see him the day Jack arrested him. I wanted to understand why he did what he did, why involve Ava at all. By the way, I saw what you did to him. That was a good hit."

-"Yeah, well, I still remember what Ronon taught me." - She smiles softly, Evan smiling back.

-"Good."

He goes silent for a moment, pondering if he should say what he wants to say next.

-"I love you, Lara. I never stopped, not even after you told me about Henry. I know I should've moved on and tried to push those feelings away, but I couldn't. I have no right to ask you for anything, but I was wondering if we could maybe give us another chance."

-"On one condition."

-"Anything."

-"No more vanishing acts. I don't think neither Ava or myself will be able to handle if you disappear again."

-"Promise."

Evan walks up to her, placing a hand on her cheek, before pulling her close and kissing her softly, feeling her kissing him back and wrapping her arms around his shoulders.

A giggle interrupts the moment, making Lara and Evan break the kiss and smile. Lara looks down at their daughter and stretches her hand towards her, pulling her close to them once she is within reach.

Evan lets go of Lara just long enough to pick her up and bring her in on a group hug. Standing in the kitchen, Ava and Lara in his arms, Evan thinks that now his life is truly beginning with the woman he loves and the daughter that has him wrapped around her little finger.
