We Need To Talk

Lara follows Sheppard and Elizabeth through the city's corridors, thinking that it's weird that both Elizabeth and Sheppard want to talk to her in private, pulling her away from the infirmary, but refrains from saying anything.

Usually private meetings like this happen either in Elizabeth's office or in the conference room, depending on the situation and how many people are involved, but Lara has noticed that Sheppard is leading them back to her and Evan's room, which makes her even more confused.

"Maybe something happened with Evan and his team.", she thinks, a pit growing in the bottom of her stomach, but quickly dismisses it, since she has been in the infirmary all day and there had been no signs that his mission had gone wrong in any way.

They make another turn and Lara thinks that perhaps it has something to do with the sudden off-world mission Jennifer went on earlier. Whatever that mission was, Jennifer never returned to the infirmary, so it's probably a safe bet to think that something might've happened and they now need to talk to her somewhere they know they won't be neither interrupted nor overheard.

They arrive at the corridor where the Senior Staff's rooms are located and Lara sees Teyla, Ronon and McKay waiting there for them. One look at McKay and Lara is now more certain than before that this has something to do with Jennifer. McKay looks uneasy, uncomfortable even, as he waits for them to reach them, solidifying the idea that Jennifer is the topic they are about to discuss in the privacy of her room.

Lara greets them softly, opening the door to her and Evan's room and signaling at everyone to come in and make themselves comfortable, taking a seat on one of the couches across from Elizabeth. Teyla comes and sits right next to her, while Sheppard stands behind Elizabeth and Ronon and McKay stay off to the side.

-"What's happened?"

Her voice is steady, but she is now back to being confused. Everyone is looking at her with these subdued expressions on their faces and she hates the looks they are all giving her every time she looks directly at them, McKay even avoiding looking her directly in the eye.

Nothing would've prepared her for what Elizabeth is about to tell her.
