You're Leaving?

For the last three years, life in Atlantis hasn't been easy. Between multiple attacks from the Replicators, the Wraith, and even the Genii, it is safe to say that things haven't been smooth sailing.

On the other hand, one of the few pieces of good news the Atlantis expedition got was finding three fully charged ZPM's. Unfortunately, they found them at the same time of news that the Wraith were starting to make their way to the Milky Way, forcing them to make the decision to abandon the Pegasus Galaxy and go back home to help protect Earth.

Sheppard was against leaving, arguing that they were leaving the people in the Pegasus Galaxy to fend for themselves when they were responsible for the mess they were all in. Elizabeth had agreed, to a certain extent. However, she had to remind him that if the Wraith get to the Milky Way, which they were already actively attempting, then things will get just as messy back home, and that Atlantis is the only solid defense against them.

Sheppard is off-world with his team, warning their allies that they'll be leaving the Pegasus Galaxy soon, still thinking about that conversation with Elizabeth, when a young man approaches them, fighting the village leader off of himself.

At the sight of the two fighting men, Sheppard tenses up, his finger slipping onto the trigger of his P-90, sensing Teyla doing the same next to him and Ronon switching his blaster from "stun" to "kill", while McKay places his hand on his sidearm.

-"Is it true you're leaving?"

-"Why?" - Sheppard nods.

-"We should've told you before, but we were threaten into silence."

-"Lynx, enough." - The village leader tries to pull him away.

-"Hold up. Tell us what?"

-"The Genii have been coming to our village, as well as others on other planets, and taking people to work in their mines. They don't care who they take. Men, women, children, it's all the same to them. If you can work the mines, they will take you."

-"Summit, is this true?" - Sheppard already knows the answer.

-"No, of course not. Lynx is sick and clearly imagining things that aren't real."

-"I know for a fact that you're lying, Summit. We already knew the Genii were taking people, we just didn't know why or where. We even warned you about it, or did you think I would've forgotten that? You might as well come clean and tell me the whole truth, before we leave and never return, leaving your people to rot in whatever situation the Genii have them in." - He is angry. No, scratch that, he is pissed.

-"Why does it matter? You'll be leaving soon enough either way."

-"It matters because we can end this once and for all."

Summit can see the determination in Sheppard's eyes and nods, letting out a defeated sigh.

-"It's all true."

-"Does anyone know where these mines are?"

-"I do. After they came the last time, I followed them the best that I could back to the gate and memorized the address they dialed."

-"Good job, Lynx." - Sheppard signals McKay. -"Show McKay the address and we'll take care of it."

-"Thank you." - Lynx types the address onto the tablet with some help from McKay.

-"I hope you aren't going to make matters worse for us, Colonel."

Summit walks away, just as Sheppard signals his team to move out. "So do I."
