Lara is sitting on her back porch, watching Ava playing around the backyard, Henry sitting next to her, three days after her conversation with Evan. They have been dating for a couple months now, Lara having met him through another mother at Ava's preschool.

She had had no intention of actually starting a long term relationship with him at the time, but they had such a great time at that first date, that it didn't take long before they became officially a couple.

She has been struggling with whether she should tell Henry about Evan or not, but eventually decided that she needed to, if Evan is going to be a part of Ava's life.

She places her hand on his, getting his attention.

-"There's something I need to talk to you about."

-"Okay. Is everything alright?" - There's concern on his face.

-"Everything's fine. It's just something I need to tell you."

-"Whatever it is, you can tell me."

-"Do you remember what I told you about Ava's father?"

-"Yeah. He was an Airman that went MIA during a mission and was presumed dead, right?"

-"That was what everyone thought, yes. I can't go into much detail, but it turns out that he was a POW for the last three years and arrived State-side about a week ago."

"I already went to see him and talked to him. He has asked if he could meet Ava, to which I agreed since it isn't fair for either of them not to know each other."

"This doesn't change anything between you and me. All this means is that he will now be a part of Ava's life and, therefore, of mine as well."

-"I get it. And, you're right. It isn't fair for them not to know each other. Ava has every right to know who her father is, just as much as he has every right to be involved in his daughter's life. Especially since he didn't really have a choice before."

"However, I do feel like I should tell you that when it comes to you, I have no intention of letting you go without a fight and if he is planning on getting you back, then he better be ready to fight, because that's exactly what I intend to do."

-"You have nothing to worry about. From what I could tell, Evan was just happy to see me again and is more concerned with having a relationship with Ava than with winning me back." - She smiles softly at him.

-"Still, I'm not giving you up that easily."

He smiles back at her, leaning over to kiss her. Lara thinks that she is extremely lucky that Henry has taken this so well, given that he knows her history with Evan. Any other man would probably feel threatened by Evan's presence in her life, but not Henry. Sure, he might've put up a fight if Evan decided he wanted her back, but since that's not the case, she's hoping they can get along.

Lara looks back at Ava and smiles, knowing that Ava needs her father in her life and she won't be the one to deny her that.
