022. THE UNSTOPPABLE DUO

Chapter twenty two

"The unstoppable duo."

Having headed to the competition, Diana and Taylor had walked away from Belly and went to grab something to drink, as Diana was holding the pink cup, Taylor had the blue one "so, do you think while asking her to the dance, Belly asked Conrad to be her team partner?" Taylor asked, as the two drank from their cups, Diana shrugged "if she did I feel like she'd tell us, right?" she asked, as Taylor scoffed "unless she thinks her and Conrad can destroy us. Which is unlikely seeing as we're an unstoppable duo on and off the court." she shared, as her and Diana laughed.

They walked up to Steven and Shayla "oh, look at that! Here's our other competition right now." Diana shared, as Steven and Shayla looked to them "we like your visors." Taylor shared "thanks we got em this morning. Steven insisted on the green because he see's it makes our eyes pop." Shayla shared, as Diana and Taylor chuckle "yeah. Yeah, they're really popping." Taylor told them, as Diana nudged her "uh, yeah, so how long you in town for Taylor?" Steven asked her "I don't know I'm just gonna play it by year." Taylor shared "she can stay as long as she wants Steven." Diana shared, as the two drank from their cups.

"Well, it was great to finally meet you. I'm glad to put a face to a name." Shayla shared "yeah." Taylor told her, as Shayla looked to Steven "I'm gonna go put on some sunscreen." she shared "alright, yeah." Steven told her, as Shayla leaned up and kissed him, she turned walking off, as Diana and Taylor turned watching her do so "you guys look good together." Taylor and Diana shared "oh, you think so?" Steven asked "it's cute." Taylor told him "yeah, but off the court totally not on because we are gonna crush the two of you's happy spirits." Diana shared, as her and Taylor laughed, walking off.

"Good afternoon. I'm Susannah Fisher.." Susannah shared as people cheered "chair of the clubs community service board, and I am delighted to welcome you to play it forward!" Susannah voiced as everyone cheered again "you know, as my mother used to say, if you're lucky enough to be at the beach, you're lucky enough. And we are very fortunate indeed.." Susannah shared, as Diana and Taylor almost made it to where she was, walking up behind Jeremiah, the two stopped and stood next to him, as Jeremiah turned looking at them. 

"Which is why in the spirit of fun and friendly competition..it is time to open our hearts and our wallets and give back to those who may not be as fortunate. We have teams raising money for homelessness, women's shelters, environmental causes and many more. And play it forward will match pledges for the winner of the tournament!" Susannah voiced, as people cheered again "pledge tables still open, so please donate generously. And with that I say let the games begin!" Susannah voiced, as everyone cheered again.

"That trophy like every other trophy when it comes to volleyball will be ours." Diana shared "yeah, I, um, heard your spikes pretty lethal." Jeremiah shared "yeah, what I did to Conrad and Nicole at the pool was more of a love tap, if I really wanted to lay it on them, they'd know." Diana shared, as her and Jeremiah laughed, Taylor watched them with a smirk on her face, as she bumped Diana making her stumble into Jeremiah "you excited to watch her play, Jeremey?" she asked "always. I watched the live videos this past year." Jeremiah shared, as Taylor raised her brows "oh, did you?" she asked him, as Diana chuckled "alright, let's go." she shared, turning and walking off, and as she did, Taylor chuckled following after her, Jeremiah watched them go, smiling.

Standing on the court, Diana and Taylor were up against the light blue team, as people applauded and cheered "okay, let's do it." Taylor shared, as her and Diana did their handshake, fist bumping, Diana then slapped her right hand with Taylor's left, as Taylor slapped her right hand with her left, the two then held hands and spun around, where they then hip bumped and then hip bumped again "let's go, Diana! Come on!" Jeremiah voiced, as Taylor and Diana then jumped in the air, chest bumping, the two then looked at each other with smiles on their faces "love to play, play to win." they said.
