I started walking to school, humming to myself as I walked. Though all that was on my mind was Braedon. Even since Monday - 3 days ago -, during science, when he clung onto and buried his face into my arm, I thought I fell in love, and I’ve been thinking about him for the past few days. Take that night a few days ago for example.
Everything in that stupid book made me think about Braedon. I sighed and kept walking, thinking about him the entire time, and soon enough, I saw him. He was walking to school as well, looking around for who I hoped was me.
“Braedon!” I called, waving. He heard me and looked over, and I grinned like a maniac. Yep, I am definitely in love. I ran over to him, soon out of breath when I reached him. He opened his arms and I threw myself into them. We held each other for a moment, maybe a little too long, before I pulled away.
“Morning, sunshine!” Braedon giggled as he hugged me again.
“Morning, Brae.” I said as I hugged him back. “Ready for yet another boring day of school?” I asked and he laughed softly.
“Yep. I’m ready.” I let go and kept walking. He followed beside, humming something.
“What are you humming?” I asked, and he just shrugged.“Random songs.” We kept walking until the school was in the distance. All of a sudden, he started sprinting down the sidewalk, calling back, “Catch me if you can!” I laughed softly and chased after him. After a few minutes, we arrived at the front of the school. I checked my watch , since no other kids were outside. 7:32, it read.
“C’mon,” I urged, “we’re gonna be late,” I then gently grabbed Braedon’s arm, but he flinched and pulled away. “You okay…?” I asked as he averted his gaze and rubbed his arms.
“Yeah, just… I need a moment.”
“You wanna stay out here for a bit, or come inside and we can calm you down?” I asked, gently worried.
“The latter…” he mumbled.
“Want me to leave you alone, get a teacher or anything else?” He just shook his head.
“No…” He hugged my arm tightly, and I smiled.
“You ready?” I asked and he nodded. We walked inside, and he seemed to calm down by the time I put my things away and got to a homeroom. “You still wanna step out for a moment for a moment to take a break?” Instead, he just shook his head.
“I’m fine, thanks though.” I nodded and gently squeezed his hand before walking to my homeroom.
