I woke up the next morning, gasping for air and in a cold sweat.

“Woah, woah, woah, Rory, calm down!” A voice coaxed, warm hands on my chest pushing me back down
.
“Who are you…?” I asked in a whisper.
“I’m the doctor’s assistant, Junpei. Now hush and eat,” they said coldly and held a bowl to my lips. I drank it quickly because God knows how long until I get another proper meal. Plus, it had been awhile since I had eaten, though I’m not sure how long exactly. “There. How do you feel now?” They asked as they set the bowl down on the table beside my bed.

“A little better…” I managed to say, as I slowly sat up.

“Good…” They said, and we sat in silence for a while. Then I peeped.

“So,  Junpei, right? Does anyone know what happened to me? The doctor, the nurses, Lori, you?” They sighed and looked away.

“The doctors, they… they don't know what happened. They’re just happy you're alive.” I sighed and hugged them.

“Me too, Junpei, me too…”

“Well, we should get you up. We’ve got school today, and some visitors,” they told me as they helped me up.

“Visitors?” I asked and they nodded.

“Yes, visitors. Now go to the bathroom and change. Lorelei brought over some clothes and your school bag. Now hurry, or we'll be late!” They reminded me, then pushed me into the bathroom. They then closed the door behind me, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I looked at the corner where Junpei said my clothes were and they were along with a little note. I picked the note up and read it.

“Dear Rory,” it started, and I smiled. I recognized the handwriting. “Hellooo! How’s my favorite brother in the whole wide world doing? Well, I hope you're doing good, you sure scared Braedon and I! I heard that Dr. Wagner, or Junpei, is taking care of you, correct? Well, she’s super nice, so I know you're in great hands! Anyways, I shouldn't keep you waiting. Junpei said that, well… nevermind. No spoilers! Love, Lorelei <3.” I finished the note with a smile, oh, my Lorelei… always being so thoughtful with her handwritten notes. I set the note down and quickly put my school uniform on, along with pulling my hair up in a ponytail.

“Almost done in there?” Junpei called from the other side of the door.

“Yep!” I yelled back, fixing my tie. “Alright, I’m done,” I said as I opened the door and stepped out.
