HANK PALMER'S POV~

~CARLINVILLE~

"Hey, Glen!" I said as I dropped by the Palmer's Residence. I closed my car door and went to hug Glen.

"Hey, punk! How're you doing?" He said as he hugged back.

"I'm good. I just came back from London."

"Oh, that's why I haven't seen you for a while."

"Yep. I had to do a court assist there for my relative and thank goodness, we won."

"Congratulations! So, you're here to see mom?"

"Yes, if she's not busy or anything." I said.

"Oh don't worry, she loves you! Come on, I'll bring you to her." He said and I nodded my head.

When we reached Mrs. Palmer's room, we saw her laying on her bed, feeling lost.

"Hey ma, Y/N's here from London to visit you." Glen said as we walked near Mrs. Palmer.

"Hey Mrs. Palmer. How have you been?" I asked her.

"Y/N, is Hank with you?" She asked weakly. I looked at Glen and we sighed.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Palmer." I said.

~AFTER A WHILE~

I walked down the stairs and met with Glen at the kitchen. He gave me a glass of Orange Juice and I drank a little as I take a seat in their living room couch.

"How come she always says that she would loved for me to be her daughter-in-law with Hank? I just don't understand it." I said as I saw Glen walked near me and sat in front of me.

"Maybe Ma just forgot about your breakup."

"It's been a long time, Glen. He has a family already and --"

"You're still striving." Glen interrupted.

"Yeah."

"Do you still think about your time with Hank?"

"Glen, let's just not--"

"Oh come on, Y/N. I know you for a very long time. You're same with Ma. You both are waiting for Hank to come back."

"He won't come back. Not anymore, I think."

~THE FOLLOWING MORNING~

I heard the news about Mrs. Palmer's death. I told Glen that I'll come by right after I finished the trial. As soon as I finished with the trial, I drove to Funeral Home. As soon as I arrived, I entered the room where Mrs. Palmer was and got shocked at what I saw. Hank Palmer. Fresh from nowhere. As soon as I saw him moved, I ran near the wall and hid from him. I was not ready to face him. I was so not ready to talk to him and bring back to hardest memory that I last have with him. But my thoughts were cut when I saw Glen held my arm.

"Y/N, why aren't you inside?" I looked at Glen with shocked.

"Hank is here."

"I called him."

"What?!" I said in shocked. "I mean, he also has the right to see his mother, but why didn't you tell me?!"

"Because I know you'll not visit knowing he's here." He has a point though.
