*Y/N'S POV
Lauren is in the middle of me and Hank as we walked Lauren to the gate at the airport. I am sad that Lauren will have to go back to her mom in Chicago since she only visited for a short period of time. But at that short period of time, she became close to me and the three of us bonded, which I dearly loved.
"Can I visit again soon?" Lauren asked me.
"Sure sweetie. You're always welcome here."
"Daddy, aren't you coming back?" Lauren asked.
"Not yet, baby." Hank said as he went down at her level. "I have to help Grandpa Palmer with a case and he asks for my help."
"Okay."
"I'm going to miss you, baby." Hank hugged Lauren and I smiled at their interaction. As soon as I saw the flight attendant who'll assist Lauren at the flight, I gave her Lauren's ticket and luggage.
"Mommy?" I heard Lauren called. I saw Hank already standing, with Lauren in his arms. Lauren opened her arms wide for a hug and I smiled as I walk near the two of them. The three of us are hugging each other and I gave Lauren a kiss on her head.
"Fly safe, okay? I'll miss you and our playdates." I said as I broke the hug.
"Me too. I will miss you too." Then, Hank put her down. Lauren and the attendant walked inside the gate while I hugged Hank as we wave goodbye to Lauren and watched her board the gate.
~AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS~
Judge invited me to have dinner with them, since all the Palmer kids are there. I helped Amy bring the dish at the table and we all ate together. Hank and I are sitting beside each other. I saw Hank being too uncharacteristically quiet. I put my hand on his thigh and when he looked at me, he smiled shortly and continued eating. As we were all talking and eating, we heard the siren for the tornado watch. We all went down to the basement and we take a seat on the couches. I saw Hank on the corner, looking at the old stuff. I went near him and rubbed his back.
"You okay?" I asked him.
"This has got to be a fucking disaster." He said softly and I only smiled as I hugged him.
"You're going to be fine." I said as I felt him held me close to him. I felt him kissed my head and I looked up at him.
"Uncle Dale, can we watch your film?" Glen's kids asked Dale. As they all convinced him and we finally got to see the film. Hank brought us to a nearby chair, I sat on the sofa beside him and we began watching the film, to which was taken during Christmas day when the Palmer Kids are all little. Then to Glen's baseball championship, and the accident. I looked at Hank and saw him looking at the floor. I held his hand and I felt him squeeze it.
"Turn it off." Judge said.
"I can't, it's film." Dale said, until the judge kicked the table where the projector was. Hank helped Dale with the projector when judge kicked it again, making Hank dropped the projector by accident, and I saw Hank's hand bleeding.
"I'm so sick of you! I'm tired of the way you decide how the world is gonna run! What you're gonna parcel out on who gets to say when you say it."
"I decide in this house! You can go decide in your house!"
"No, I can't!"
"Why?!"
"Cause I'm stuck in purgatory with a client who's doing everything in his power to be found guilty! You didn't get anywhere near the mill, did you?"
"What?" Judge said. "I told you everything that I know."
Hank and Judge began bickering loudly. Until, Glen held Hank before he did something wrong to their father. Then, Judge went out to the basement and back to the house with me and Glen shouting to him not to get out.
"Get the hell away from me, Glen." Hank said and began to ascend the stairs, but before he did, I held Hank's arm.
"Hank, please don't."
"Let go of me." He said strongly as he wave his arm away from my grip and followed his dad.
"Y/N..." I heard Glen.
"He needs me." I said and I went up with Glen shouting at me. I walked inside the house with Glen now hot in my tail. As soon as we arrived inside, we heard shouting coming from the kitchen, me and Glen walked in quietly as both father and son tried fishing out their hidden anger to each other.
"Go help judge. I'll look at Hank." I said. He nodded and went to follow his dad. I went near Hank and saw him crying. I kneel in front of him and grabbed his injured hand. I began inspecting. I went near one of the kitchen drawers and pulled out their first aid kit. I got the towel from Hank, I wet it for me to clean his wound. I began cleaning his wound.
"I told everything that I wanted to say to him." Hank began. I nodded my head at him as I put ointment in his wound. "But, he didn't even give a single fuck about what I said."
"I don't know what to say regarding your situation with judge, but I feel like you heard his reasoning as to why he did everything he did in the past."
"What kind of a fucking reasoning is that?!"
"I don't know how his mind works, only you can determine it. Not what a son thinks, but what a father thinks." I said and that made him quiet. I wrapped his hand in bandage and as soon as I'm done, I fixed the first aid kit and put it back to where it belongs. I saw Hank stands and he went near me. He hugged me tightly and I heard his silent sniffles. I wrapped my arms around him and began rubbing his back for him to calm down.
"Thank you for being here." He said.
"You're welcome." I felt him broke the hug and he slowly lean in to kiss my lips. I held his face in my hands and he wrapped his arms around me as he hungrily kissed my lips. After a couple of seconds, I broke the kiss and he lay his forehead in mine.
"Been dying to do that." He said and I laughed at him.
"It has been too long." I said and he nodded.
